Compared to the FVD version, this solution consumes less system resources. But at the same time it displays the panel in two-dimensional format (2D).
After installing Speed Dial 2 in empty tab a plus icon is displayed.
Click it. In the window that opens, select the setup mode:

if you right-click on a block, a list of commands for the tab over which the cursor is placed opens;
and if you right-click on a tab on a space free from elements (outside the panel), a list of general commands opens (parameters, statistics, adding a tab, group).
You can go to the extension settings by pressing the “three stripes” button (located at the top right).
In the sliding panel, parameters for the appearance of visual bookmarks are set: number of columns, width, distance between blocks, etc.
The “Themes” section has a large selection of different background images for the links tab. Click the thumbnail of the visual composition you like and click “Save Settings.”

Speed Dial (FVD) has more beautiful view, but it is also more resource-intensive. And Speed Dial 2 has a relatively minimalistic panel, without graphic bells and whistles. However, on low-power machines this addon will work quickly and stably.

In one of these additions, I wrote that I had found a replacement for the old (new) Yandex visual bookmarks and attached another video. This is a short overview of the functions and design of the Speed Dial extension.

(I did not use this function and did not test it. Because it seems that if you enable synchronization of regular bookmarks, they will be deleted from the browser. I don’t understand for sure)
Let's get back to saving visual bookmarks. Go to the SpeedDial tab:
We need to click on the middle button Overwrite server data - which translates as - overwrite server data.
Click “Upload” and copy the data from our computer to the server.
We will be asked if we are really ready to do this? We say “Yes”
This procedure must be performed only after those cases when you log out of your account and then log in again. Logging out does not occur automatically, so you won’t have to do this often.
When we click “Ok”, the first synchronization will occur. After 3 green checkmarks light up, the window will automatically close.
All. The initial settings have been completed.
Now we can move on to setting up and organizing our bookmarks.
SpeedDials do not synchronize themselves, so from time to time you need to do this yourself.
You will see three green ticks. This means that your changes have been saved on the server.

Now, if you suddenly reinstalled Google Chrome or uninstalled and reinstalled operating system, then we simply install two extensions Speed Dial and Ever Sync.
