How to log into VK if you can’t. Why can’t I log into VK and what to do. What to do in this situation

Very often it happens that VK does not let you in, even if you enter the correct login (phone number or email) and password. You are asked to enter a captcha, this is a set of letters in English, or check the box that you are not a robot. And still it won’t let me on VKontakte. Perhaps the vk.com website itself does not even open. The reason for this phenomenon may be infection of your system with various types of Trojans and viruses (we will write about treatment, if necessary, at the end of the article).

Let's look at all the possible reasons and solutions for how to log into VKontakte.

Quick navigation:

Try logging in from a different Browser.

Even if you entered everything correctly, this does not guarantee that your browser, for a number of reasons, is not buggy. Let's say you use , try logging in for example with Internet Explorer.

There is a ban in the hosts file, a possible reason why VK won’t let you in.

The ban written in this file does not allow VK. By the way, a ban in hosts can apply to many sites, for example Yandex or antivirus resources...

Let's try to look at your hosts file using Windows 7 as an example, maybe this is the reason why VK won't let you in.

Go to the Start menu

And enter the following line:

notepad %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

notepad %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Open the hosts file using notepad, delete everything below the entry “127 0 0 1 localhost”

The word "localhost" should be the last word in the document. Close, saving the changes, try logging into VKontakte again.

It’s worth checking to see if your VK page has been hacked.

If you try to log in from another browser and still are not allowed into VK, then you will definitely need to restore your page, more about this (See). This method allows you to restore access to VK, even if you do not have access to your email or phone number.

Clean your computer, it may be infected.

What should you do if you are faced with a VK hacking, if various glitches occur. Obviously, you need a good antivirus that will delete infected files for free and eradicate the reasons for their appearance.

In my opinion, the ideal solution would be a small utility from a world-famous antivirus company Dr. Web Cureit. The home version will be free.

Download and test your computer.

One of the most popular and often blocked social networks is VKontakte. If we compare all the questions from users on the network about why there is no access to the social network, approximately 70% of requests relate to VK. There can be many reasons for lack of access, from system faults to network problems. It’s worth starting with the last error; you need to check your Internet access. It is also worth eliminating the risk of an accidental system bug; to do this, you need to restart the computer. In other cases, you will have to follow the instructions described below.

There are about 6 key reasons for blocking, but each of them deserves a separate description.

No access to Contact when logging in from phone

If at some point you lose access to your own VKontakte.ru page on your smartphone, the cause may be a browser glitch. Malfunctions of web browsers on phones are common, so it’s worth downloading a different browser and trying to open the application through it. Many users recommend Yandex Browser with built-in VPN.

It also makes sense to do:

  1. rebooting the smartphone;
  2. updating the phone's operating system and installed browser. You can check for updates for your web browser in the Settings section of the Component Updates page;
  3. clearing the browser cache. This can be done through the Clear History utility inside the web browser or through the phone settings. In the second case, you should go to the “All applications” tab in the settings, select the installed browser, click on the “Clear” button, and then click “Clear cache”;
  4. Login to the site through the full version of the site. Usually there is an automatic redirection to the mobile version. You need to switch to the desktop version of the social network;
  5. deleting and reinstalling the browser;
  6. switching to another Internet connection. If you are using a Wi-Fi network, you should turn on your mobile Internet and try to log into the site again.

Local access blocking

If there is no access to Contact and some other sites, there is a block in the local, corporate or state system.

Now about each blocking in turn:

  • local, that is, installed on the current system. This could be a parental control application or a modified hosts file. In the first case, you will have to contact the person who has access to the parental control application. In the second case, you can follow the link C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc, open the file with Notepad and delete entries where it appears in the URL - vk.com;
  • corporate. It is often installed on computers in schools, universities and large offices. In most cases, it is possible to bypass the blocking, but the system administrator may find out about this. It is possible to open the site via VPN. The result may be a reprimand;
  • state - the site is blocked for all residents in the country. The blocking is bypassed through a VPN application or extension.

Blocking for spam

VKontakte owners can also block access to a personal page. VK administrators often freeze or block a profile for spam and other violations of the rules for using the service. Blocks are usually temporary. For the first cases of freezing, restoration is available immediately after confirming access via SMS. The more warnings, the longer you have to wait until your account can be unblocked.

To avoid being included in the blocked list, you should not send a huge number of messages of the same type. Also, you should not constantly change IP addresses, this can also lead to freezing.

Technical work on the server

You can find out about work from VK by error 404, 403 or the “Server not found” notification. The average user cannot do anything, but the problem does not lie in the computer, which is good news. You'll just have to wait until the technical work is completed and the site will work again.

The easiest way to understand whether technical work is really causing the blockage is to ask your friends. If no one can log into the site (from one region), VK is simply undergoing maintenance. Usually it does not take much time (1-2 hours).

Incorrect time or date

A simple and very common problem is that the time or date is incorrectly set on the PC. Some VK scripts are time-bound and to avoid problems, the service requires setting the exact time.

How to restore the correct time:

  1. Click on “Date and Time” in the “Control Panel”;
  2. go to the “Internet time” tab, and then to the “Change settings” button;
  3. Click on the active element “Update now”.

OS infections with viruses

The virus could also damage system files or the browser, making it impossible to load VK. Getting rid of an infection is relatively simple; just run a system scan with at least one antivirus. To do this, it is better to download a third-party utility rather than an installed antivirus. The best free utilities are Dr.Web And Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool. Maybe this will be enough to treat your computer.

What should I do to log into a social network?

In addition to the methods already listed to solve the problem, you can try a couple more methods.

Page recovery

If a page is frozen or blocked, in most cases it is quite easy to restore it. Just log into your profile, send an SMS to restore the page and enter the received code. It may not be possible to do this right away. VK may impose a block for several days.

Search and neutralize virus-infected files

In addition to automatically searching for and removing viruses through an antivirus, you often have to restore damaged files. Typically, malware corrupts the hosts file.

How to restore hosts:

  1. go to the path C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc;
  2. right-click on the file and select “Open with” notepad;
  3. remove all entries of the form 127.0.0.1 localhost, where instead of localhost there is the URL vk.com.

Important! The required file may be hidden; to see it you need to change the display settings in the system. On Windows 10, being in any folder, click on the “View” tab, then “Options”. Then you should go to the “View” page and set the “Show hidden files” option.

How to avoid problems with blocking and viruses?

In 95% of cases, viruses penetrate the system due to user negligence. It is strictly not recommended to download programs from dubious sites, as well as use them. If you ignore this recommendation, a virus will soon appear in the system. If the system is already infected, it is urgent to “treat” it.

The day has come when you, as usual, decided to log into your favorite social network, but then it just doesn’t work out.

And you don't understand why this happens. Well, let's solve this problem together.

First, answer the question, what happens when you try to log into vk.com?

Fast forward to the answer you need:

The VKontakte website (vk.com) does not load?

There are several explanations for this:

VKontakte login and password don't work?

The answer to the question and the solution is very simple!

First, make sure that you enter your username and password correctly:

  • Make sure you enter the password in the correct language, for example, you enter a password using Russian letters, but it is on your English keyboard layout;
  • Make sure the caps lock light is not on on the keyboard, otherwise the password will be entered incorrectly;

Are your login and password still incorrect? Then an attacker most likely stole your password and changed it. But you can restore access to your page back, if the page is registered to your phone number, which you have at hand.

Restoring access to the VKontakte page

Click on the link “Forgot your password?”, enter your phone number to which the page is registered (or e-mail, or login), click “next”. You will be asked to enter the characters from the image (captcha), and then confirm whether this page is yours

After this, a code will be sent to your phone number which you need to enter in the form provided and click “change password”.

Well, after that we just come up with a new password.

After this, you will be able to log in to VKontakte again, with the same login, but with a new password that you came up with.
To avoid errors, you will also receive another SMS on your phone, in which you will be reminded of the information you entered so that you do not forget or lose it.

Are they asking you to send an SMS when you go to a VKontakte page?

Everything seems to be as usual, but they ask you to send SMS for money.

You think that Pavel Durov, the creator of the VKontakte network, is to blame, and that the day has come when you will have to pay for it, or there are some technical problems and in order for everything to work you need to send an SMS. But this is absolutely not true!

Very often people think that their VKontakte page is blocked, or there are simply problems with the vk.com site itself and it does not work, but this is absolutely not true! To check this, just go to your VKontakte page from your friend’s computer and you will make sure that everything is fine with it.

This means that your page is not blocked. What happens then, why doesn’t he go to the vk.com website? The answer is simple - a virus or Trojan program has entered your computer, which blocks access to the site and requires you to send a paid SMS in return.

Such messages can look very believable and as if on behalf of the VKontakte administration, but this is not so.

Remember once and for all, the above-mentioned social network never requires money from you to access your page.

One of the ways to infect your computer or gain access to your page is to send you a link in a letter on behalf of your VKontakte friend, whose page has already been hacked, or whose computer is already charged. You click on it, do some actions, and the next day you cannot get in touch.

Think before you click on such links. More often than not, messages with such links may make you suspicious. For example, you have never communicated with this person (and you don’t remember when he became your friend), and then suddenly a message comes from him: “Hello. How are you? Follow this link, there is something interesting written about you))).” Under no circumstances should you fall for such tricks from scammers.

A file similar to vkontakte.exe could have arrived on your computer, which automatically opens a window reminiscent of the VKontakte site, but this is a fake page, that is, not real, very similar to it, where various errors appear when you want to view your page.

Do not send the SMS that you are asked to send.

This will not give you access, but after one SMS they will require a second, then a third, and so on. At the same time, tidy sums will be constantly debited from your mobile phone account. And you can also infect your mobile phone.

How to solve a problem?

  1. Firstly, install an antivirus. If you have it installed, then update it. Perhaps its anti-virus databases are long outdated, and for this reason it did not protect your computer from hacker attacks.
  2. Secondly, search for the vkontakte.exe program on your computer. If found, remove it immediately.
  3. Third, edit the host file on your computer, which may have been modified by a virus. We will dwell on this point in more detail, since in most cases this is the reason.

How to find and edit the host file?

Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. This means, go to drive C, then to the Windows folder, then to System32, drivers and finally to the etc folder.

In order not to take a long time to get to the etc folder, as written above, you can simply enter C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc in the address bar of Explorer and you will be taken to the desired folder.

There is a hosts file there. Open it using the standard Notepad program.
Remove everything from there except this line:

127.0.0.1 localhost

and save the file.

Can't save the hosts file?

If you cannot save the hosts file - you are denied access, then right-click on the hosts file, select “Properties”, then “Security”, then click “Edit” and select users,
(click on the image to enlarge and view it)

check all the boxes and click “Apply”.

After this, you can edit and save the hosts file. But when you edit this file and save it, then return the permissions to us. This is important for safety.

How to prevent such problems in the future?

1) Use antiviruses with constantly up-to-date (fresh) virus and Trojan programs databases;

2) Before entering your username and password from the VKontakte page, make sure that the address vk.com is accurate in your browser.

Due to your carelessness, you can give your password to an attacker by simply entering it on a page very similar to a contact, with a difference in address of just one character, for example 1vk.com;

3) Create a complex password for the VK page and email. Don't just use letters or numbers, but alternate them, and also use large and small letters, also alternating them.

If you are currently using a simple password, immediately go to the page settings and change it to a more complex one.

This will protect you from password guessing programs. Don’t wait until you are hacked and I will send spam on your behalf;

4) Do not download suspicious programs or add-ons for contacts, which, according to the creators, increase friends, likes and votes;

5) Don't open suspicious emails, which come to you by e-mail and do not follow suspicious links in VKontakte messages, even if it is from a person who is your friend (but with whom you have not communicated before).

Remember that scammers do not sleep, and are always finding new ways to make money from you. Be careful and good luck.

VK was blocked in Ukraine: how to bypass the blocking

In May 2017, the president of the country signed a decree blocking Yandex, Vkontakte and other Russian social networks and large resources in the country.

Now all you have to do is use a VPN, or simply any browser extensions that use a proxy.

To access blocked sites from your computer, you will need to install one of the following extensions:

  1. friGate - recommended.
  2. Google traffic savings(in addition to saving traffic, it allows access to blocked sites);

To bypass blocking from your phone, download and install any of the following applications on it:

  1. Opera VPN (stopped working);
  2. Opera Mobile (stopped working);
  3. Tunnelbear
  4. Zenmate
  5. Alternatives to Opera VPN (paid and free)

Sometimes it happens that The browser stops accessing some sites. Those. You can access some sites without problems (which indicates that the Internet is working), but when you try to access other sites, problems arise. The problems are that the page simply does not load, and the browser displays an error message (for example, error 101).

In the described case, the situation for me personally looked more critical, because... I could not access the “Computer for Dummies” website for three days, i.e. When I tried to access the site using a browser, either a message appeared with error code 101, or with error code 109:

Google Chrom browser error message

As it turned out, the situation looked very mysterious for the following reasons:

  1. I could not access the website from either a desktop PC or a laptop;
  2. Judging by the statistics, the site was accessible to users.

The biggest surprise was that my friend from another region could not access the site. As it turned out, users of the super-duper mega-provider Rostelecom, previously notorious to many Internet users as UTK, could not access the site.

A call to the Rostelkom support service did not yield much results, because... The engineer on duty (it took about half an hour to wait for him to appear on the line, which is a great success) stated that he had not encountered anything like this and advised him to conduct a trace and ask a question on the Rostelecom forum.

So, on the advice of a Rostelecom engineer, I carried out a trace. To trace you need to run the command cmd.exe(to find this application in Viste and Windows 7, you can type this command into the search after clicking the “Start” button). In the window that appears, enter the line tracert satename.ru. In this particular case, I typed tracert website. After pressing the “Enter” key, the tracing process began, the result of which you see in the figure.

Result of tracing to the website website from a home computer

Looking at the figure, we can conclude that the problem is between nodes No. 5 and No. 6.

Tracing was also carried out from the Google service intended for tracing http://www.servhttp.ru/trace/google.com ..

I posted the test results on the Rostelecom forum, but there was no response. However, the site became available on the same day.

Notice what the trace results look like after the problem has been resolved.

The figure shows that in the sixth position there is a node ae-1.500.vgrd-rgr2.ug.ip.rostelecom.ru, which, apparently, was the reason for the inaccessibility of the site to Rostelecom users. It is not entirely clear why the engineer on duty could not establish this reason.

I believe that tracing should also be used when sites such as VKontakte are unavailable (command tracert vkontakte.ru) and Odnoklassniki (team tracert odnoklassniki.ru), because This will allow you to more quickly find the cause of the problem. It is possible that in some cases the reason is not your computer, but the communication channels of your provider.

If the tracing to the site is normal, but you cannot access the site through the browser, the problem is in your computer. In this case, you must check your computer for viruses. I advise you to use a free healing utility

Evgeny Mukhutdinov

Today, YouTube is the most popular video hosting site in the world. Its attendance is off the charts. Hundreds of thousands of people will post their videos there so millions can watch it! But with the wild growth of popularity, problems on the client side associated with his work are also growing.
Very often, users contact me with various complaints related to access to YouTube and its operation - the site does not open, the web page is inaccessible, videos are not displayed, it says “video is not available,” etc.
From my own experience I will say that in 99 cases out of 100, the “root of evil” is hidden on the computer itself, from which the resource is not accessible. On the video hosting side, failures occur extremely rarely and are quickly corrected.
In this article I want to talk in detail about the main reasons why the browser does not access YouTube and how this can be fixed.

1. Flash player

Users often confuse the inability to watch a video with logging into YouTube. In fact, they are able to access the site, but they cannot watch the video due to the fact that a special plug-in for the browser is not installed - Adobe Flash Player.

No matter how hard Youtube tries to move away from this format towards HTML5, it cannot completely abandon it. Those who have installed Google Chrome or another browser based on the chrome engine practically do not encounter this, since the necessary module is already integrated into the browser. But if you use Firefox, Chamelion or an old version of Opera, then you will have to install an additional flash player from here.

2. Geographical restrictions

When you try to open a video, the message “video is not available in your country or region” appears.

Users or YouTube administration sometimes specifically close posts for residents of certain countries or regions. A striking example is Crimea. You can bypass this restriction by using a proxy server or special browser extensions that redirect all user traffic through servers in different countries of the world. I can offer an excellent solution on my own - the Browsec plugin.

By doing this, you will also be able to eliminate the option of blocking the portal by your provider.

3. YouTube site is unavailable

When, when you try to access a video hosting, you get the error “Web page is unavailable” and you cannot access YouTube from your browser, but other sites open without problems, first of all try to do this using another Internet browser, for example Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge.

If this step did not help and the site is still unavailable, first of all you should check whether anything unnecessary is written in the system hosts file. To do this you need to go to the folder:

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc

It will contain a Hosts file, which must be opened using notepad:

If there is a line in it that contains the Youtube.com address, feel free to delete it and check access to the service. Usually this solves everything. After this, it is recommended that you check Windows with a good antivirus with up-to-date databases, since such entries in the Hosts file indicate virus activity.

But sometimes the opposite effect happens - the browser does not access YouTube because the site is blocked by the computer’s security system. At some point, suspicious traffic came from the portal, which was blocked for some time. It’s easy to check - temporarily pause your antivirus and firewall and see if the Youtube login is available again.

If the antivirus really blocks the site, try adding its web address to the exceptions.

P.S.: If none of the tips helped and you still can’t access YouTube, check to see if other sites are accessible at all. If problems arise with them too, check whether the use of a Proxy server is enabled. In Windows 10 this can be done in the section Settings >> Network and Internet >> Proxy:

In most cases, the use of an additional server should be disabled, except in cases where Internet access is actually organized through a Proxy (large home networks or networks of companies and enterprises).
