Introduction

I have already written many times that many B-brands have reached a dead end, producing technically identical devices, externally similar friend on a friend. In order to somehow diversify the lineup, they have to figure out every time what other additional accessory they can please the user with: either replaceable panels are included in the kit, or covers of different shapes and sizes. But Alcatel decided not to bother too much. It doesn’t matter that the smartphone is no different from other similar ones, the main thing is that there are many body colors: here you have a pink cover, and a white one, and a blue one, and the most “colorful” one – black :). In general, let's get acquainted with the device, because there will probably be fans of this brand.

Design, dimensions, control elements

Appearance Alcatel POP C7 is typical for most inexpensive smartphones on Android: rectangular shape with sloping edges, inexpressive front and back panels, plastic and... plastic again. My impression of the C7 was also slightly spoiled by the fact that the gadget in the review was black. I understand that this is a “unisex” type, that is, for both “boys” and “girls,” but over the past few years, I personally have become fed up with black plastic with a soft-touch coating. Manufacturers, please finally come up with something new!

Alcatel's dimensions are relatively compact for a smart phone with a five-inch screen diagonal - 141 x 71.8 x 9.9 mm, although the body is still thick. The “miracle” of technology weighs 162 grams, but in your hand it feels like 200 grams. I don’t know what adds to the weight: the battery is ordinary, the body is plastic, the screen is thin glass. However, the smartphone fits well in the hand thanks to the rounded corners, smoothed sides, and non-slip surface.

The screen is easily soiled, but fingerprints can be easily and quickly removed from it. On the back side the marks are practically invisible. The display is protected by glass, so after several weeks of use, not a single scratch appeared on it.

The body is made quite well. I didn't notice any creaks or backlashes. Back cover does not bend to the battery, does not crunch when squeezed.

On the front panel at the top left there is an indicator of missed events. It flashes or lights up white. To the right of it is a speech speaker. Its volume is high, low and mid frequencies can be heard, the timbre is not the most pleasant - dull, but does not cause irritation, the interlocutor can be heard relatively clearly and legibly, and you can also be heard well. To the right of the speaker are light and proximity sensors. They react quickly and work correctly.

At the bottom - touch buttons"Back", "Home" and "Menu". Marked with white translucent paint. The buttons have a dim white backlight. Responsiveness is good.

At the bottom there is a micro-USB, at the top there is a standard 3.5 mm jack. There are no elements on the left; on the right, just above the center, there is a power button and a volume rocker key. Both are practically recessed into the body, however, they are easy to feel.

Speaker speakerphone, hidden behind the grille, a camera slightly rising above the body, a second microphone for noise reduction and a flash located on the back of the device.

To open the cover, you need to pry it at the lower left corner. Top left is a microSD slot, below is SIM1 with 2G/3G support, right is SIM2 with only 2G support.

Comparative sizes:

Display

Screen diagonal Alcatel OneTouch POP C7 is 5 inches. Physical size – 63x111 mm, frame on top – 14 mm, bottom – 16, right and left – 4 mm each. The resolution makes even the most positive user sad - 480x854 pixels, pixelation is not particularly noticeable, but the density cannot be called high - 195 PPI.

The screen matrix is made using TFT-LCD technology, the quality when viewed directly on the display is good, but as soon as you tilt the phone away from you, the contrast decreases, and the colors are inverted towards you. I would like to see IPS here.

The capacitive touch layer processes two simultaneous touches. The sensitivity is excellent.

Battery

This model uses a lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery with a capacity of 1900 mAh, 7.22 Wh, 3.8 V.

The manufacturer indicates its data on the “life” of the battery, which I believe, since our results were approximately the same:

  • Talk time: up to 12.5 hours (2G), 8.5 hours (3G)
  • Standby time: 630 hours (2G), 580 hours (3G)
  • operating time music player: 24 hours

In 720p video playback mode, the device worked for about 5 hours. The average time is approximately 10-12 hours without active use of 3G.

The device charges in about 2.5 hours.

In the settings there is an item called “Super Energy Saving”. It is very similar to the functions in HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5. When almost all applications are turned off, the brightness of the matrix backlight decreases and only basic functions become available to you: SMS, calls, calendar, address book. Alcatel works in this mode for about 3-4 days.

Communication capabilities

The smartphone operates in 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and 3G (900/2100 MHz) cellular networks. There are two SIM cards: one operates in 2G/3G, the other only in 2G.

Available Bluetooth version 4.0 for file and voice transfer. There is a wireless connection Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. The device, of course, can be used as an access point ( Wi-Fi Hotspot) or modem.

The device has GPS. In “cold” mode, the first satellites are identified in less than one minute, in “hot” mode – three times faster. The sensitivity is not bad: indoors it finds one or two satellites, near a window - up to 8 almost immediately, outdoors the device instantly finds more than 8 satellites. I didn’t notice any problems with GPS, everything works fine.

Memory and memory card

512 MB installed inside random access memory. On average, just under 200 MB is free. 4 GB are allocated for data storage, of course, about two are free. There is a slot for a memory card. The maximum volume is 32 GB.

Camera

As befits a real “Android”, the Alcatel C7 has two cameras: the main one is 5 MP, the front one is 0.3 MP. There is a small LED flash.

The quality of the camera is mediocre, it does not affect a high resolution and narrow dynamic range. However, the white balance is correct in most situations, the shooting speed is high, and the accuracy is good. For inexpensive phone It will do just fine.

Both the front and rear cameras have an F2.8 aperture.

The camera can record FullHD video at 30 frames per second, which is good news. There is autofocus. The sound is mono, clear. The “front” camera records video in a resolution of 640x480 at 20 fps.

Performance and Software Platform

Most of these devices have a Taiwanese MediaTek chip. The Alcatel OneTouch C7 smartphone is no exception. It uses the MT6582 chipset, the most common among state employees lately: Cortex-A7 processor, 28 nm, 4 cores at 1.3 GHz, Mali-400MP2 graphics accelerator with a clock frequency of 400 MHz.

For comfortable operation of the device, this processor is more than enough. There are problems with games, but only with powerful ones like Asphalt 8. The device does not glitch, does not slow down, and works relatively smoothly.

Brief information about the phone parameters (Quadrant Test, Antutu Test):

The device has an operating system installed Google Android ancient version 4.2.2. I'm not sure that 4.3 will be released, much less 4.4. Although I personally don’t see any point in them, especially in inexpensive gadgets. The corporate shell is essentially absent here. The main screen icons, settings and unlocking of the display have been slightly changed (the “unlock” button “floats” in a circle, which needs to be moved to the sides).

The main difference between the Alcatel smartphone One Touch POP C7" - many body colors: black, blue, white and pink. This model will certainly find fans, so we should talk about it in more detail.

Design, size, control elements

Let's start with the fact that the phone " Alcatel One Touch POP C7" looks similar to most affordable smartphones under Android control: classic back and front panel, plastic, rectangular shape and sloping edges. For a device with a 5-inch display diagonal, the dimensions are relatively compact - 141x71.8x9.9 mm. The smartphone fits well in the hand, which is ensured by rounded corners, smooth sides and a non-slip surface. Fingerprints are quickly and easily removed from the screen. The marks on the back panel are almost invisible. The screen is protected by glass, making it extremely scratch resistant. As for the opinion of the owners of the Alcatel One Touch POP C7, reviews indicate that this model I received a fairly well-made case. Indeed, there are no backlashes here. The back cover to the battery does not bend and does not make any sounds when squeezed. The event indicator is located on the top of the front panel. It lights up or flashes. The voice speaker is located to the right of this element. Its volume is high, medium audible and the timbre does not cause irritation, the interlocutor can be clearly heard, the owner will also be heard well. To the right of the microphone - and lighting. They work correctly and respond quickly. At the bottom there are touch buttons: “Menu”, “Home”, “Back”. They are marked with translucent white paint and have a similar color backlight.

The standard headphone jack is located on top panel, micro-USB - on the bottom. The left side is empty. Slightly above the center, on the right panel, there is a volume and power key. Both control elements are easy to detect, although they are almost completely immersed in the housing. As for the speakerphone, it is hidden behind a special grille. In addition, it is curious that the camera rises slightly above the body. The back of the device contains a second microphone, which provides noise reduction and a flash. You can open the lid by supporting it by the lower left corner. Below it, on top, is a microSD slot, just below is a pair of SIM cards, the first of which supports second and third generation communication standards, and the second - only 2G.

China never ceases to amaze with its smartphone models. Just yesterday many could say about Alcatel phones: “Chinese, nothing interesting and dubious.” However, today such a statement would be inappropriate, and this is further confirmed by the recently released inexpensive quad-core smartphone Alcatel One Touch POP C7 7041D.

Let's review the Alcatel One Touch POP C7 7041D smartphone. The distinctive feature of this model is not only the 4-core processor (it can handle almost all toys) and the operating system. Android system 4.2.2, and also reliability, which, in fact, allows Alcatel to compete with global brands that are sometimes inferior in quality Chinese manufacturer. At the same time, the manufacturer is liberal towards customers in its pricing policy.

The Alcatel One Touch POP C7 7041D model for two SIM cards fits nicely in the hand, although its dimensions are far from small - 71.8x141x9.9 mm with a five-inch display (TFT, resolution 480x854 pixels). Located above the screen front-camera by 0.3 MP.

The color range of the case starts from classic white and goes to bright red, light blue, pink and blue. There are two keys on the right side: one turns on the power and locks the screen if necessary, the second adjusts the volume. The manufacturer has adapted the keys as much as possible to fit the thumb of the right hand for comfortable control. At the bottom of the display there are touch buttons; they are quite sensitive, which allows you to control the smartphone without any delays or freezes.

At the bottom, on the edge, there is a port for a USB cable to recharge the battery, the capacity of which is 1900 mAh, which allows you to continuously use the phone to the maximum for 8 hours, i.e. watch movies or surf websites on the Internet. The smartphone can be in standby mode (according to the manufacturer) for more than 600 hours.

On the top side surface there is a 3.5 mm jack for a headset. On the back of the phone there is a photo flash and a 5 MP main camera paired with autofocus, allowing you to take great photos and record videos that you won’t be ashamed to show to friends later. On the front side there is a 0.3 MP front camera for video calls, which can be made via GSM operators or IP telephony. A little further away there is a proximity and light sensor.

Internal memory 4 GB, there is a slot for MicroSD cards and MicroSDHC with memory capacity up to 32 GB. The size of RAM is small by modern standards - 512 MB. The Alcatel One Touch POP C7 7041D smartphone operates on GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900, UMTS 900 and 2100 networks and allows data transfer using EDGE, GPRS, HSUPA standards at a speed of 5.76 Mbit/s.

With all this, the model turned out to be quite cheap. The average cost of Alcatel One Touch POP C7 7041D according to Yandex.Market is currently 4,675 rubles, and starts from 3,848 rubles. Of course, the price/performance ratio of the smartphone looks quite reasonable.
