All the features of Paint for creating and editing images. PAINT Tutorial How to multiply an image in paint

Which displays a tab with all the available actions that you can perform with the created work in Paint. On the page Tools in the Paint panel we looked at the capabilities of the main tools in Paint.

On this page I will tell you -
How to work with images in Paint.

How to cut a selected object
and paste it into another image

The Cut tool in the Paint panel is numbered 3.

Using the example of two images, I will show how to cut an object
from one image and paste this object into another image.

There are two images - a New Year tree and a symbol of 2012, a funny dragon.
Both images are in PNG format.

I resized the dragon image down horizontally
and vertical - by 50%. This is the size of the image.

Then I turned to the Select tool.

And chose - "Arbitrary area" and "Transparent selection".
I made a selection around the dragon and clicked on the Cut tool .
The dragon got into the clipboard, and on the image where the dragon was, only the background remained.

Then I opened the Christmas tree image and clicked on the Paste tool.
The dragon appeared in the upper left corner of the Christmas tree image and I just
I dragged it (with the pressed left mouse) to the place I needed.

And here is the result of this work.

If you do the same work in Adobe Photoshop, then PNG images
are saved on a transparent background, i.e., there is no white background and the image looks like this.

And in the Paint program, the transparency of the background is lost when you save
images in PNG format - the program displays such a message.

But I needed to show you exactly how to cut an object in Paint.
from one image and paste it into another image.

How to flip an image vertically or horizontally in Paint

How to flip an image in Paint
vertically or horizontally

In order to flip an image vertically or horizontally - - you must first open the desired image in the Paint program. I will again use, for explanation, the redcurrant image.

As you can see in the image - the grass below grows, as it should, up,
and a bunch of red currants descends from the twig down and the twig stretches from
upper right side. We will flip this image vertically.
and select from the opened tab "Flip vertically".

You see, after flipping the image vertically, the image is essentially flipped 180°. The grass is upstairs, and a bunch of currants stretches upwards from a twig. So, not all images need a vertical flip, but I explained the principle of flipping an image vertically, and this image shows it well.

Now let's flip the image horizontally.
To do this, click the "Rotate" button on the panel in the "Images" section.
and select from the opened tab "Flip horizontally".

And we see that the image has rotated.
The twig is now pulled from the top left side.

§5 . Working with image fragments

Before you can do anything with an image fragment, you must select it.

Mission "Periphery"

1. Open the "pictures\peripherals.bmp" file and collapse it.

2. Launch another Paint. Set the sheet size to 800 x 600. Save the file as "5-periphery.bmp"

3. Divide the sheet into two equal parts - draw a horizontal line. At the top you will place input devices, at the bottom - output devices.

4. Switch to the "periphery.bmp" picture (using the taskbar, at the bottom of the screen), select one of the devices, copy it to the clipboard, switch to "5-periphery.bmp", paste, move either to the top or to lower part.

5. Do this for all the pictures. Save the file.

Task "Portrait of a beloved boa constrictor"

Method 1 - select a fragment, move the side or corner selection marker (the mouse cursor should take the form of a double arrow);

Method 2 - menu Picture, command Stretch / Skew, set a new size in percent.

If the size should increase, then the numbers should be greater than 100, decrease - less than 100.

If the numbers are the same, then the pattern will change proportionally, if they are different, then the pattern will become higher / lower or thinner / thicker.

Flip and Rotate:

The entire picture or selected fragment can be flipped (top to bottom or left to right) and rotated by 90, 180, 270 degrees. (Picture menu)

- reflection from left to right,

- top down

turn 90, turn 180 turn 270

Tilt

With this command, you can set the slope of the selected fragment or the entire picture in degrees.

5) What tools did you use to draw the objects from the "Forest" task?

6) What actions were used to obtain the forest?

7) What is the difference between the execution of the commands Copy and Replicate?

8) What needs to be done to make the image flip down?

9) What should be done to make the image smaller?

10) What needs to be done to make the image rotate to the left?

11) What color is the opposite of white, yellow, red?

Paint.NET is simple in every way. Although its toolkit is limited, it allows you to solve a number of tasks when working with images.

The Paint.NET window, in addition to the main work area, has a panel that includes:

  • tabs with the main functions of the graphic editor;
  • frequently used actions (create, save, cut, copy, etc.);
  • parameters of the selected tool.

You can also enable the display of auxiliary panels:

  • tools;
  • magazine;
  • layers;
  • palette.

To do this, you need to make the corresponding icons active.

Now let's look at the basic actions that you can perform in the Paint.NET program.

Creating and opening images

Open a tab "File" and click on the desired option.

Similar buttons are located on the working panel:

When opening, you need to select an image on your hard disk, and when creating, a window will appear where you need to set the parameters of the new image and click "OK".

Please note that the image size can be changed at any time.

Basic Image Manipulation

In the process of editing, the picture can be visually enlarged, reduced, aligned to the size of the window, or returned to its actual size. This is done through a tab. "View".

Or using the slider at the bottom of the window.

In the tab "Image" there is everything you need to change the size of the picture and the canvas, as well as to flip or rotate it.

Any action can be undone and redone via "Edit".

Or using the buttons on the panel:

Selection and cropping

To select a certain area of the image, 4 tools are provided:

  • "Select Rectangular Region";
  • "Selecting an oval (round) shape area";
  • "Lasso"– allows you to capture an arbitrary area by tracing it along the contour;
  • "Magic wand"– automatically selects individual objects in the image.

Each selection option works in different modes, such as adding or subtracting a selection.

To select the entire image, click CTRL+A.

Further actions will be performed directly in relation to the selected area. Via tab "Edit" you can cut, copy and paste the selection. Here you can completely delete this area, fill it, invert the selection or cancel it.

Some of these tools are listed on work panel. This includes a button "Crop by Selection", after clicking on which only the selected area will remain on the image.

In order to move the selection, Paint.NET has a special tool.

Properly using the selection tools and cropping, you can do transparent background on the pictures.

Drawing and Filling

Tools for drawing "Brush", "Pencil" And "cloning brush".

Working with "Brush", You can change its width, hardness and fill type. Use the panel to select a color "Palette". Press to draw left button mouse and move "Brush" along the canvas.

holding right button, You will paint with a complementary color "Palettes".

By the way, the main color "Palettes" can be the same color as any point in the current drawing. To do this, simply select the tool "Pipette" and click where you want to copy the color from.

"Pencil" has a fixed size 1px and customization options "Overlay Mode". The rest of its usage is the same "Brushes".

"cloning brush" allows you to select a point in the picture ( Ctrl+LMB) and use it as a source for drawing a picture in another area.

By using "Fills" can be painted quickly individual elements images in the specified color. Except type "Fills", it is important to correctly adjust its sensitivity so that unnecessary areas are not captured.

For convenience, the desired objects are usually selected and then filled.

Text and Shapes

To apply an inscription to the image, select the appropriate tool, specify the font options and color in "Palette". After that, click on the desired place and start typing.

When drawing a straight line, you can define its width, style (arrow, dotted line, stroke, etc.), as well as the fill type. The color, as usual, is chosen in "Palette".

If you drag the blinking dots on the line, it will bend.

Shapes are inserted in a similar way in Paint.NET. The type is selected from the toolbar. With the help of markers on the edges of the figure, its size and proportions change.

Pay attention to the cross next to the figure. With it, you can drag the inserted objects throughout the drawing. The same goes for text and lines.

Correction and effects

In the tab "Correction" there are all the necessary tools for changing the color tone, brightness, contrast, etc.

Accordingly, in the tab "Effects" You can choose and apply to your image one of the filters found in most other image editors.

Saving an image

When you have finished working in Paint.NET, you must remember to save the edited picture. To do this, open the tab "File" and press "Save".

Or use the icon on the work panel.

The image will be saved where it was opened from. And the old version will be deleted.

To set the file parameters yourself and not replace the source, use "Save as".

You can choose the save location, specify the image format and name.

The principle of work in Paint.NET is similar to more advanced graphic editors, but there is not such an abundance of tools and it is much easier to deal with everything. Therefore, Paint.NET is a good option for beginners.
