The Play Market gives an error 504. Common Google Play errors and how to fix them. Ways to solve the problem

Unexpected errors appearing in the operating room Android system in moments of interaction with digital store, arise quite often - the network is full of instructions for correcting crashes of the 911-918 series, out of memory error 101, problems with accounts 481 and updates not loading in the 927 series. And now there is a new problem, hidden under error code 504, and raising a whole collection of all kinds of questions .

And there are several reasons for this - firstly, the error code 504 appears in different cases, which are difficult to connect with a common theme. Sometimes problems arise due to incorrect authorization, sometimes due to incorrect time tracking. Secondly, there are also too many solutions, and some are quite difficult to systematize. Some smartphones are helped by a banal reboot, others – by restoring data from backup copy. And, since there are so many variations, it’s time to start taking action!

Reasons for the 504 error

If you describe possible options errors with code 504 briefly, the list is as follows:

  • An unstable network connection, also disrupted by low speed, is not enough to download updates or any other information from Google Play;
  • Incorrect date and time. The problem occurs due to an incorrectly selected time zone or an unexpectedly disabled mode automatic detection time;
  • Overcrowded Play Market cache, shortage free space on internal memory due to a whole bunch of junk files or unused apk;
  • Incorrect update operating system Android or the store as a whole, the need to repeat the procedure for unfinished actions;
  • Problems caused by operation external card memory.

Ways to solve the problem

The list of problems described above will have to be solved in the same order. But before starting all the actions, you should definitely restart your smartphone (or tablet) and try to access the Google capabilities Play. Surprisingly, in 70% of cases problems are solved this way!

Unstable network connection

An unstable network connection can be fixed in two ways.

  1. Firstly, using another Wi-Fi point(preferably not a public one, to which a whole collection of various devices is attached, but a private and personally created one. In this case, the chance of success is much higher);
  2. Secondly, why not switch to 3G or LTE? Yes, for loaded traffic you will have to pay according to the price tag that is offered mobile operator, but it’s not necessary to immediately upload gigabytes of information? Three megabytes downloaded solely for the purpose of checking the functionality of Google Play is more than enough. If error 504 does not appear immediately after clicking the “Install” button, then the problem is definitely on the Internet.

date and time

Problems with incorrect date and time can be resolved in “Settings”, in the “Date and Time” section. This is where you will have to experiment. The first option is to trust the automatic capabilities of determining the time when connecting to the network.

If it was not possible to achieve the required accuracy, then it is better to uncheck the box and enter all the data manually, not forgetting to select the correct time zone (orientation to Moscow). Immediately after making your choice, save the changes and be sure to reboot. The changes will take effect only after the system is restarted, not earlier!

Cache full

Cache full for performance Google services affects too seriously, and therefore will have to be done manually (or automatically, using special utilities cleaning, like Clean Master, App Cache Cleaner, Power Clean, which, however, will have to be downloaded from third-party sources, like 4pda) to fix the problem of incorrectly used data. The steps are as follows - go to the “Application Manager”, find entries about the Play Market, Google Play Services and Google Services, call up the settings, click on the “clear data” and “clear cache” item. After the work done, reboot.

Other reasons

  1. Did the above method not fix the error? This means that the problem lies in an incorrectly downloaded update. Therefore, in the same “Application Manager” section, click on the “Uninstall updates” item. Reboot. Then go to Google Play again and repeat the store update procedure;
  2. And the last option is problems with the flash drive. The first way to deal with the problem is to free up at least 10% of the total memory (if 4 GB, then 400 MB, if 32 GB, then 3.2 GB, respectively). You can also delete unused applications, and films, and any other types of multimedia. If there is plenty of free space, but the result has not changed, then you should remove the Flash drive from the smartphone and try to access Google Play again - perhaps the problem is precisely external memory, and it is with her that the store is not able to interact.

Almost all Android users have at least once encountered the fact that when they try to download an application or simply launch the Play Market, an error appears under some number. In this article, we will look at solutions to almost all errors that you can find in the Play Market.

Error 926. This is another server error similar to the previous one. Clear the cache of service applications and restart the phone.

Error 927 appears in the Play Market because you are trying to download or update the application while the Play Market itself is updating. Just wait until the update finishes.
