This was enough for the remote control to fail. During disassembly, it turned out that the processor sprayed onto the board did not work.
Unfortunately, many control commands for this Iconbit device were only from the remote control.
After visiting places where remote controls are sold and making calls to service centers, I decided to buy such a remote control.
in Belarus is unrealistic. And having decided that abroad will help us, I started looking on Aliexpress.
As a result, this remote control was purchased. Then, after removing several commands from my native remote control, I found
analogue, where almost all the control buttons were. By writing a letter to the developers of this remote control
I asked them to distribute the commands to the keys I needed and enter them into the database.

We are looking for a similar device, by button codes (if we managed to remove it), by brand, by purpose.
Next, we write out codes from the triggered buttons and create a table of code correspondence

How I removed the codes from my remote control.
The remote control didn't work. Having disassembled it, I warmed up the controller with a hairdryer.
We earned 10 out of 20 buttons, although not for long. I quickly copied them. Having native codes, it’s easiest to find a similar device.

Universal remote controls allow you to control several devices of different types (TV, DVD, digital receiver, audio system). Some manufacturers equip their products with such remote controls (for example, satellite receivers). Versatility is achieved in two ways:
- using preset code tables;

Design

The remote control weighs no more than conventional (non-programmable) remote controls. There is a recess on the bottom cover of the case that makes it easier to hold the remote control in your hand. The surface of the case is matte, dirt-repellent. The remote control keyboard consists of 48 buttons. The keyboard buttons are located strictly symmetrically, the body is also symmetrical, so the remote control is equally convenient to use, holding it in your right or left hand. The remote control buttons are pressed softly. Tactile feedback is good.
The keyboard buttons are grouped into zones according to their functional purpose. The buttons for each zone are different sizes and shapes. The navigation circle is located exactly in the center, the numeric keypad buttons are at the top, and the service selection buttons are at the bottom. To expand the functionality of existing buttons, the Shift prefix button can be used.
There is a small area of 8 buttons labeled MINI TV. This is a minimal set of buttons for controlling viewing (switching programs, changing the volume level, confirming the installation, selecting a low-frequency input, muting the sound, switching to standby mode).
In the very bottom row of the keyboard there are buttons for selecting the controlled device: TV, DVD, SAT and AUX.
Most of the keyboard buttons are black. The Power, Shift buttons and a group of functional (“colored”) buttons are highlighted in color. The Power button is backlit, which turns on when the command assigned to the programmed button is sent. There are clear, easy-to-read symbols on the keyboard and the remote control body that describe the functions of the buttons.
On the front (upper) part of the case is the Remikon company logo and the name of the remote control modification (“4:1”). At the bottom end of the remote control body there is a connector socket mini USB, used to communicate with a computer. The remote control is powered by three AAA batteries.
Preparation for use
To work with the remote control, you will need a computer, the RCCreator program (you can download it) and a USB - mini USB cable. The RCCreator program is specifically designed for programming remote controls manufactured by Remikon. The program also has a number of additional service capabilities that allow you to expand the functionality of Changer remotes. From there you can also download an archive of photos of remote controls that is connected to the RCCreator program database.
The system requirements for the computer on which you can install the RCCreator program will be satisfied by almost any platform:
- Pentium II processor or AMD equivalent;
- 128 MB RAM, 800x600 screen;
- operating system MS Windows XP;
- Windows Vista or Windows 7.
When you start programs, the function of searching for updates to the program itself and the database is automatically turned on. During testing of the remote control, the database was updated several times. The RCCreator program interface is simple and intuitive. The program supports the choice of interface language (12 available languages, including Russian and Ukrainian). The language can be selected during the installation process of the program or assigned while the application is running.
On the left side of the program window there is a block for selecting parameters for database filters and modifying the Changer remote control. Searching for data on known remote control models can be carried out using the manufacturer's database, using a user-created database, or using all available databases.
The filter allows you to:
- Set a brand. The database supplied with the RCCreator program contains data on remote control models for video and audio equipment produced by various manufacturers.
- Select device type. Devices about which there is information in the database are divided into 19 categories (TV, SAT, DVR, HiFi, AUX, VCR and others). To use the filter, you can specify several types of devices from this list.
- Specify the device model. The remote control data selected by the search filter can be saved as an XML file. Previously created remote control database files can be imported into the currently used database.
To use the program with the Changer universal remote control, you need to select its modification. The program provides the ability to select four types of Changer USB remotes: TV, DVD, SAT and 4:1. In the right part of the program window, a table of correspondence of control commands to the buttons of the selected remote control, an image of the type of universal Changer remote control with binding of the buttons of the selected remote control to the buttons of the Changer remote control are displayed. By switching to the “Pictures” tab, you can display the image of the remote control selected by the search filter. Information about the selected remote control (its image, the correspondence of the keyboard layout to the buttons of the universal Changer remote control) can be printed from the RCCreator program in the form of a kind of “business card” of the remote control.
When connecting the remote control for the first time Changer RC USB 4v1 to the computer's USB port, the OS identified it as a USB HID-compatible device. The system installed the drivers automatically. The RCCreator program detects the presence of a Changer RC remote control connected to the computer.
Reading codes
Changer RC USB remote control + RCCreator program allows you to read IR commands generated by any remote control. The manufacturer called the mode of receiving commands from an unknown remote control and decoding them “removing the remote control.” To “remove commands,” the IR emitter of an unknown remote control is located at a distance of 3-5 cm from the receiving window of the remote control Changer RC. Reception of IR commands is indicated by the illumination of the Power button on the Changer RC universal remote control. The program window displays the status of the received command. If the command is decrypted, its hexadecimal code is displayed. An indicator of successfully received commands is also displayed on the screen. When reading the same control command repeatedly (this can be achieved by long pressing the keyboard buttons of the remote control being read), several indicators of received messages light up. By switching to the “Oscilloscope” tab, you can view oscillograms of the received command, address decoding and commands in binary code.
If the IR command fails to be received, “UNKNOWN” will be displayed on the screen. This happens when the optical IR signal of the remote control being read is insufficient for reliable reception by the IR sensor of the Changer RC remote control (for example, if the distance between the remote controls is more than 5 cm), or when pressing the keyboard buttons is not long enough.
Finding and creating remote controls
“Removed” command codes can be used to search the existing database for the device model to which this remote control corresponds, or when creating a command card for a new remote control. The Search tab displays the hexadecimal code of the “removed” command and the buttons with which this code can be associated. The list of buttons includes the most important and common types of control commands found on almost every remote control: Power, Mute, Menu, OK, numeric keypad buttons and some others. Once the user points to one of these buttons, the accepted code is associated with it and the program automatically starts searching the selected database for a match. By sequentially reading the codes of several buttons on an unknown remote control, you can associate several buttons in the “Search” submenu with them. To increase the accuracy of your search, you can use a preset filter by specifying the manufacturer or model name. If a match to the “remote control-command” combination is found in the database, then a list of corresponding devices is displayed in the program window. If there are several such devices (for example, if the “removable” remote control can control several devices), on the “Links” tab you can see a list of all these devices. This combination may correspond to the pre-prepared “firmware” of the Changer RC universal remote control, which is written in the database as "Changer XXXX", where "XXXX"— code of this remote control combination.
The right panel of the program window of the “Home” tab displays a table of correspondence between the command codes of the found device and the names of the function buttons. The image of the “4:1” universal remote control shows the buttons that are assigned to commands when using the Changer RC remote control. Testing has shown that even without a filter, the program correctly determines the manufacturer, device model and type of remote control of various products (TVs, satellite receivers, audio devices).
A “removable” remote control can be saved in the database as a new one. The procedure for creating a remote control is very simple. You need to read the codes of the buttons of the “removable” remote control one by one, give each of them a name and associate the read button with the button of the Changer RC remote control. To expand the functionality of assignable buttons, you can use the “Shift” prefix. Then you can associate two commands with the universal remote control button: one formed after pressing Shift, the other without it.
The names of the buttons can be edited at your discretion. If required, its image is attached to the remote control saved in the database. The supported image formats are BMP, JPG and PNG.
"Virtual remote control" and programming
The Changer RC remote control can control various devices both independently and in collaboration with the RCCreator program. The manufacturer called the remote control mode via the RCCreator program “Virtual Remote Control”. In this mode, the remote control must be connected to the computer's USB port. A suitable remote control is selected from the RCCreator program database and the “Virtual remote control” mode is activated.
The emitter of the Changer RC remote control is directed towards the controlled device. The image buttons of the “4:1” remote control on the “Home” tab of the RCCreator program are used as a keyboard. The issuance of the command is duplicated by the backlight of the Power button.
When used standalone as a universal device, the Changer RC USB 4v1 can be programmed to control four different products. Programming is carried out using the RCCreator program. For programming, data stored in the manufacturer's database or created by the user can be used. When programming, the remote control selected from the database can be assigned to one of the types of devices (TV, DVD, SAT, AUX). To program all four devices, you need to sequentially select them from the database and then write them into the memory of the Changer RC remote control. The programming procedure takes a few seconds. You can monitor the programming progress using the Power indicator. To delete a recorded remote control, there is a “Clear” function.

Remote control programming instructions
Download the latest version of the program installer. Run the installer. Select the installation folder and other options. For correct operation of the program, it is recommended to agree with all options of the program installer.
Programming the remote control must be done with the batteries installed.
The first thing you need to do is find the desired remote control and determine what type of ChangerUSB it is in. And connect this particular type of Changer for firmware.
This is the main thing you need to understand in programming. I'll tell you how to do it. Select the firmware by highlighting it with the cursor. We move on to the next window located in the middle of the program and determine the type of remote control (Changer) for the firmware. To do this, we sort through the devices, from top to bottom.
If you have selected the device correctly, you should see something like the following figure. Button name or button ID.
After this has been found out, you need to connect exactly the same Changer as in the program figure, where the button IDs and names appear.
At the bottom of the RCCreator program window there are two connection status indicators: on the left - the remote control, on the right - the signal receiver. Before you start working with the program, make sure that the icon of the device you are connecting lights up green.
If the type of firmware and the connected remote control are selected correctly, the button to program the remote control becomes active. Click (Program the remote control)
Press (+) to start programming:
The red LED on the remote control lights up, which means the programming process has begun. After the diode goes out, the programming process is completed. The programming tab will show the data of the recorded remote control. After completing the programming process, close the programming window and only then disconnect the remote control from the miniUSB cord.
All that remains is to print the instructions by clicking on the Printer icon in the program. All. The remote control is ready to control the device for which it was programmed.

SEARCH BY BUTTONS is a search for interchangeable remote controls that have the same signal, both from the same manufacturer and from others, in a similar or different type of remote control housing. Open the search tab, remove the “POWER” button signal from the remote control, the button signal will be displayed digitally at the top left of the tab. press the “POWER” button in the “SEARCH” tab, a list of remote controls that match the signals of the “POWER” button will be displayed on the left. It is recommended to use the signals of the following buttons for searching - “POWER, 1, VOL +, CH +, OK, MENU”.
SEARCH BY PROTOCOL is a search using signals from remote control buttons that are not in the “SEARCH” tab. there are 2 buttons for this […], the search process is similar to searching by buttons.
SEARCH BY BUTTONS AND PROTOCOL OF A REMOTE AVAILABLE IN THE DATABASE - used when the remote control is already in the program database, and you need to select either an analogue or compare it with another remote control available in the database. select the desired remote control in the program, highlight the desired button with the mouse so that on the CHANGER remote control on the right it becomes active and its numerical value is displayed in the signal indicator field. Open the "SEARCH" tab and paste it into the desired button. A list of analogues will be displayed on the left side of the program.

After the codes of all buttons are written down, it is better to close the program through the “exit” or “cross” in the upper right corner - the information is saved when closed. The program may close with an error, resulting in the loss of the last entered data.
