Unscrew the screws on the side cover of the cartridge and remove it.

Carefully remove all gears and set them aside.

Now the most difficult part, remove the retaining ring, it holds the developing shaft.

Remove the side cover and then take out the developer roller.

Turn the hopper over and pour out any old toner.

Take a cloth and add degreaser to it. Wipe the edge of the metering blade and remove any carbon deposits that have built up. It is very important to remove all carbon deposits! Carbon deposits interfere with the normal flow of toner to the development roller and scratch its surface. Do not press too hard on the dosing blade! The blade should not be deformed.

Fill in about 60 g of new toner. Reinstall the development roller (wipe it with a napkin), then the side cover and put back the retaining ring!

If you are wondering how to refill brother cartridge, then it is worth paying attention to some details. The design of the models may be slightly different, which determines the procedure. Therefore, the following two options need to be considered.

Operating a Printer with a Toner Cover

Refilling Brother cartridges is quite simple if the model is equipped with a special lid for working with filler. Therefore, the user needs to carry out a number of simple procedures:

  • — first disconnect the device from the network;
  • - prepare a work surface covered with paper or soft cloth;
  • — install the printing device on a level surface;
  • — open the special cap used when refilling the Brother cartridge;
  • — carefully add the toner, remembering that the filler is toxic.

If you spill the filler, you need to wipe it with a dry cloth; you cannot use water, especially hot water.

The figure below shows the plug that needs to be removed to get rid of any remaining toner.

Difficulties with Brother equipment

Some printer models may not have a dedicated toner cover. To do this, you need to disassemble the side of the device. After this, the shaft is carefully removed. Then you need to take an A4 sheet and make an imaginary tray out of it. It is inserted between the shaft and the squeegee.

Toner needs to be poured onto a sheet, this is how Brother cartridges are refilled. During the process, the sheet must be supported so that the toner falls into the device’s hopper. After the procedure is completed, a checkbox is set to reset the counter so that the data is reset to zero.

If refilling Brother cartridges is a difficult procedure for you, it is recommended that you contact

Work should be carried out wearing gloves and using special equipment.

The entire cartridge is divided into 2 parts: the drum cartridge and the toner cartridge. We will need a toner cartridge (hereinafter simply a cartridge).

At the end of the cartridge there is a plug secured with a seal. Carefully remove the seal using a flat-blade screwdriver, then use the same screwdriver to open the plug.

Thoroughly clean the inside of the cartridge with a special vacuum cleaner. If you don’t have a vacuum cleaner, you can gently shake the contents over a bag or trash can, tapping the cartridge over the entire surface. After cleaning, pour Brother TN-1075 toner (approximately 60-70g) into the hole and close the plug.

For correct operation cartridge, it is recommended to install the gear “flag” for resetting printed pages. This is necessary in order to avoid the appearance of a message on the display about the toner running out or replacing the cartridge.

In order to check the box, you need to remove the cover on the opposite end of the cartridge. Unscrew the 2 mounting screws and press out the 2 latches using a flat-blade screwdriver. There is a “foot” on the “flag”; the gear must be placed on the free pin so that the “foot” fits into a special groove. After the gear is on the pin and the “claw” is in the groove, the gear must be rotated clockwise until it clicks (the click means that the “claw” has engaged with the adjacent gear). Replace the cover. Make sure the lid is latched and level. Secure it with two screws. Repeat these steps if the printer still shows toner or replacement messages. There is a slight difference between the TN-1095 cartridge and the TN-1075: the TN-1095 has a slightly larger flag in diameter.

Attention! It is recommended to carry out these steps after cleaning the cartridge, but before refilling with toner! If there are visible “no toner” stripes on the magnetic roller (the black roller is located from edge to edge), then you should clean the dispensing blade (don’t be alarmed by the name, it is not sharp, this is a formality, because it cleans excess toner from the magnetic roller). First you need to unscrew the 2 screws that secure the blade. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, pry either edge of the blade where the screw was located and pull it towards you. Do the same on the other side. Once you have separated the blade from the cartridge, you can begin cleaning. It is best to clean off “burnt-on” toner with an old and unnecessary plastic card; an unnecessary guitar pick will also work. Using light movements with a minimum of applied force (the blade is easily deformed, if it bends, printing defects will appear) scrape off the “burnt” toner. Residual toner can be wiped off with a cloth or soft paper towel. Now the blade needs to be placed back. The blade itself must be inserted into the space between the foam pad and the magnetic shaft. The “ears” - the grooves of the blade must be aligned with the holes for the screws, pressed against them and secured with two screws.

The cartridge is ready to go!
