Motorola droid razr maxx xt912 recovery description. Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD - Specifications. Different sensors perform different quantitative measurements and convert physical indicators into signals that a mobile device can recognize

Motorola Razr XT912Design

Appearance

We can talk a lot about the Razr, for a long time and with delight. Here we will discuss - the first smartphone on Android OS, released at the end of 2011 with a design taken as a basis from the legendary Motorola Razr V3 clamshell phone. For those who don't know, the word Razr means thin, light, razor sharp. It is difficult to apply these characteristics to a modern smartphone, which has a huge screen area, but Motorola designers succeeded.

Also, this smartphone replaced the previous flagships and was supposed to incorporate all the best and most powerful, while maintaining elegance and lightness in appearance. This is exactly the case when the form dictates the content, and not vice versa. Therefore, the smartphone turned out to be a bit wide, but very thin. For 2011, it was the thinnest among its competitors.

Internal layout

To make the smartphone as thin as possible, we had to abandon the traditional frame. Its role is played by a rigid mixture of plastic and light alloy metal around the perimeter of the screen module, and all other components are now attached to it.

The motherboard occupies the entire area of the smartphone, and even taking into account the need for thinness, metal covers were not spared to protect the microcircuits, which also gives a slight increase in the overall weight of the smartphone.

Buttons

There are only three physical buttons – power on and volume control. While the volume buttons are plastic and smooth, the power button has a silver color and texture. This makes it easier to feel without looking and it looks very beautiful.

Below the screen there is a block of four touch keys for controlling the Android OS.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Screen

There should be premium in everything. This is what the Motorola developers decided and installed here a new product of those times - a matrix made using Super Amoled Advanced technology. The last word here is only to distinguish the matrices from the same ones installed in Samsung.

The beauty of these screens is that it is noticeably thinner. This is achieved due to the fact that instead of side illumination through a diffuser (which gives the main thickness), in this type of matrix each pixel is illuminated. The most famous effect of this technology is “true black”. Its “realness” is achieved due to the absence of illumination of the necessary pixels and you see a truly black color or, in other words, black “nothing”.

But there is a minus. Firstly, these matrices are quite fragile and if the pixels are damaged by an impact or strong pressure, the consequences remain forever. Secondly, white pixels have a limited service life of 10-15 thousand hours on average. Therefore, the matrix works on average for about 5 years, and then the white pixels begin to “burn out.” Green and blue are also limited in resource, but it is slightly larger than that of white.

And lastly, the colors are too bright. On the one hand, these are the most saturated colors among all types of matrices, on the other hand, it may seem “vigorous” to some. But after this type of screen, you will hardly be able to work with other types of matrices - they will all seem faded.

The screen diagonal is 4.3 inches, which is enough to see what is happening on the screen and maintain the pocket size of the smartphone. The resolution is also traditional for Motorola of those years: 960x540 pixels.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Touchscreen

It uses a rather expensive capacitive touchscreen from Atmel. It has some protection against false positives (for example, from moisture) and stylus support (it’s not clear who needs it on the Android OS).

But its operating temperatures are impressive; even in severe frost there should be no problems with the operation of the touchscreen.

Due to the design and some features, the frames around the screen are very wide. It’s comfortable to hold in your hand without fear of accidentally pressing the screen, but the frames are still wide.

The entire front side is covered with protective glass known technology Gorilla Glass third class protection. It covers not only the screen, but also the sensors and the touch key block.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Multimedia capabilities

Multimedia speaker

The speaker is large, but flat. Therefore, its sound mainly uses high and some mid frequencies. Because it doesn't have any body for volume. It is directed in the opposite direction from the display. It is actually located on the back of the plastic frame.

Speaker

It is small in size, but since it is located right in the center, its audibility is excellent.

Microphones

There are three microphones installed here for better work active noise reduction systems.

The conversational microphone and its antipode stand next to each other, but are directed in opposite directions. To suppress wind noise and other ambient sounds, a third microphone is installed on the back side. It also performs the role of stereo audio recording along with conversational audio when recording videos with the built-in camera.

Other

All frequently used connectors have been moved to the top end. It turned out to be the widest and thickest structurally.

The wired headset uses a standard four-pin 3.5 mm jack.

To synchronize your smartphone with a PC or laptop, use a standard micro USB connector version 2.0. It also allows you to charge your smartphone via a PC or laptop, but slowly due to limitations USB connectors. But through the docking station, the charging speed is even slightly higher than that of the included charger.

Next to the charging connector there is a connector for connecting to a video signal receiver - micro HDMI. You can connect your smartphone to the TV either with a cable or using an exclusive docking station.

These connectors can also be used for a docking station in the laptop form factor - Motorola Lapdock.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Cameras

Front-camera here it has a maximum resolution of 1.3 megapixels for those times. It can even make a video with quality up to 720p.

The main camera is located on the back side and has a resolution of 8 megapixels. The quality of the images is good, but a little below the level of an average digital point-and-shoot camera.

Video recording quality is maximum 1080p at 30 frames per second. There is no stabilization.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Chipset

The technological platform for this smartphone is called Spider, that is, spider. In fact, it partially copies its brothers in the Droid line.

In terms of the chipset, the TI 4430 processor with a Cortex-A9 core and ARMv7 architecture, which has worked on several Motorola smartphones, is used. Technological process when producing 45 nanometers.

The GPU is PowerVR SGX540.

Memory was set to the maximum for those years: 1GB random access memory and 16 GB of built-in flash memory for data storage. There is a memory card slot with a capacity of up to 32GB for storing documents, photos and videos. The size of memory cards is standard for smartphones – micro SD.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Communication modules

The communication modules installed here are the newest at that time.

WiFi still uses the generally accepted b, g and n standards, at speeds up to 150 Mbps.

Bluetooth version 4.0 with A2DP and EDP profiles and support low consumption energy.

For navigation there is a regular GPS module with an auxiliary A-GPS function for a faster start.

For voice communication and mobile internet there is a communication module that works as in the CDMA standard, for which it was developed. But for use outside the US, there is an auxiliary communication module for GSM standards.

Both standards can work with 3G networks and their speeds. Moreover, this model supports the CDMA EVDO Rev.B communication standard.

For the USA and specifically the Verizon operator, there is support for 4G LTE in CDMA networks, but only on channel 13.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Additional equipment

This smartphone received several additional docking stations.

The most interesting is the Motorola Lapdock, which allows you to turn your smartphone into a small laptop.

The second is a regular desktop docking station that can both charge a smartphone and connect it via HDMI output to a TV or laptop.

The third is a car docking station that not only charges a smartphone via a micro USB connector, but also transmits an audio stream via the same cable.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Battery

This smartphone began to use new type battery. Firstly, it is not removable. Secondly, it is flat. Instead of wires, a flexible cable with wide conductors is used here and this cable is secured with two bolts.

Battery index EB20, capacity 1750mA.

MotorolaRazrXT912 Color range

The richest color gamut of Motorola smartphones for 2012.

Main color is black. There are colors of white, purple and blue.

The color only applies to the metal edging. All other parts are either chrome or black. The entire area back cover occupies a thin leaf of grayish-green Kevlar.

Smartphone Motorola Droid Razr Maxx xt912

I present to your attention the Motorola DROID RAZR XT912, a smartphone from the 2011 line. Smart was ordered back in 2014 after reading and watching large quantity reviews and study of its characteristics. Description and review after a year of testing and use. So, let's go)

In general, this is how it turned out) The phone arrived in a beautiful branded box, without signs of use, the seller also sent gifts, a small folding stand and two films for the screen, one of which was already on the phone. Nice. The parcel was sent by regular first class and took a little over a month.

Design and accessories

Opening the box reveals a view of the beautiful creation of Motorola engineers. The smartphone is very beautiful. The combination of fuzzy lines and interesting angles, stainless steel and Kevlar finish on the back of the device makes this phone wonderful example what a well-made product should look like. I was amazed at how the phone actually looks and feels in a way that no photo can capture.

Included with the phone were non-original simple headphones, an original USB cable and a non-original, again, Charger. Later, an HDMI-microHDMI cable was purchased separately for this phone to connect the smartphone to a TV and monitors, for watching photo videos and games.
Nothing else noteworthy was found in the accessories. Let's move on to the phone itself.

The phone pleased me with its thickness - only 9.1 mm (although in the upper part this value is close to 1 cm, but due to the connectors and speaker located there it is impossible to avoid this). It fit perfectly in the hand.

The controls turned out to be very similar to my previous device (motorola quench xt5) and it turned out to be pleasant.

On the top At the end there is a 3.5 headphone output, as well as microHDMi jacks (for connecting the phone to a monitor, projector, TV, etc.) and microUSB.

On the left side there are connectors for microSIM and microSD cards, which are closed with a neat plug that protects them from various debris and dust.

On the right On the side there is a power button and a volume rocker. Both buttons rise above the body line by about 1 mm and have a small and clear stroke that ends with a click.

From below there is nothing.

Backside carries the name of the operator offering this phone in the States - Verizon. In its upper part there is a camera lens that shoots HD video, a flash diode, a hole in one of the microphones of the noise reduction system and a mesh that hides the main speaker of the phone.

Facial Part of the phone is given a special style by a steel nameplate with the name of the manufacturer. Without it, the phone would be completely different. Below it on the right we see a 1.3MP camera lens, light and proximity sensors, and on the left an RGB notification LED.

At the bottom of the front side There are 4 touch buttons for controlling the phone: menu, home, back and search. The buttons have a pleasant backlight, which makes them visible in the dark and automatically turns off during daylight hours. Above the touch buttons is the logo of the American operator - Verizon. It is applied with high quality and to the right place. Doesn't spoil it at all appearance phone and looks quite appropriate. Under the buttons is a microphone hole.

The screen is made using PenTile technology, the picture remains bright and juicy. Viewing angles are excellent.

Filling and software

I won’t describe and show the test results in detail, but I will say that for everyday use the Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor and 1 GB of RAM are more than enough for me to work comfortably with the smart phone.
The battery in “city” mode (dialer, Internet, GPS, reading books and a couple of casual games) lasts for two days, in “country” mode (not in flight mode, constant network search and periodic use of navigation and photo-video camera ) a full battery charge lasts painlessly for 7-8 days (maximum battery lasted 15 days in flight mode, using navigation, camera and reading books)
At the time of receiving the phone, it had customized Russified firmware with Android 4.4.2 on board, it was later updated to Android 5.0 (brakes and bugs), after two days of using the new raw firmware, it was decided to roll back to the latest official firmware for this phone with Android 4.1.2 on which the phone still flies to this day (I haven’t noticed a single bug or lag in this firmware, the functionality of the phone is maximum).

Conclusion

Pros:
- the performance of the 2011 line device is more than enough for all today’s tasks
- GPS work perfect
- splash protection really works (the device was accidentally wet, then completely dried and worked properly during all these actions)
- fashionable appearance
- durable and powerful battery
- great screen
- the ability to use it as a set-top box by connecting to a TV via a microHDMI connector
- good volume apparatus
- noise reduction system when talking
- excellent design and compact size

Minuses:
- the back Kevlar covering quickly peels off when using the phone without a case
- large screen frames
- currently weak camera modules

High performance coupled with a fashionable appearance for a very low price. I'm incredibly pleased.

Hello, dear Muskovites. Not long ago we had a pleasant conversation in a small and cozy review topic. This time I present to you the Motorola DROID RAZR XT912... Achtung!!! Again, a lot of letters, BIG photos, very few spoilers and blatant Motorola advertising. Arranges? Then go ahead!..

Selection, purchase and delivery.
So, let's begin.
"Why Motorola again?" - you ask. The answer is simple... Very simple... But for now I won’t answer it...

That is why I want to start this review with where reviews usually end - with a video. Moreover, the video is not just a simple one, but an advertising one :)

To be honest, like most other people, I don’t really like advertising. Consciously waste time on it - never! But something, namely advertising (not counting phones and other gadgets) at Motorola was a success. Don't believe me? See for yourself, it won’t take much time, but I hope there will be few indifferent people left.

MOTOROLA RAZR™ Product Promo

Let's look at the following...
MOTOROLA RAZR™ Product Promo

But everything here is somehow unreal and computer generated. Therefore, finally, my favorite video with a “live” phone in the title role:
Presents Motorola RAZR™

In the last review, in one of the comments, I was pointed out an unforgivable omission - I did not indicate that the phone was used. That’s why I’m writing right away - I bought the phone new, but... it’s an exhibition copy. Those. it was lying somewhere in a store, say, in this one:

on the counter next to other similar devices. Let the counter be like this:

But it is not known for certain where and how exactly it was lying, but the fact remains - the phone is new, in real use it was not, therefore it does not bear any traces of use (even the slightest).

This phone was bought as a birthday gift for my beloved wife. Before that, she used an obsolete product of the Chinese telephone industry - .

By the way, I liked this phone - small, ergonomic. But it had a couple of huge disadvantages: the brake (by modern standards), a weak battery and a simply terrible camera, despite the fact that it is as much as 5 Mgp.

His wife had somewhat more complaints against him, incl. a small screen on which you can’t see anything on the street and, most importantly!!! he wasn't white.

Having combined her dissatisfaction with mine, I began to select a good and high-quality device, which would not only satisfy women’s needs, but also please the eye of any man, and especially me :)

By the way, before ordering RAZRa, my wife was just going crazy with Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100. She liked him in profile, and in front too. But when she saw RAZRa, she realized how wrong she was and how wrong she was.

And so, while looking for a little white phone, I accidentally came across this lot. Which was immediately bought and paid for.

Even though the ad listed the shipping method as USPS Priority Mail International, the package was shipped regular first class. It arrived quite quickly - in 25 calendar days and was received by mail just on my birthday.

As for the packaging, there was none at all. Yes, yes, it wasn’t. There wasn't even the usual yellow/white/gray paper envelope. The box with the phone was wrapped in No, not like that. A piece of A4 sheet was taped to the box with the phone, on which there was only enough space to write the addresses of the recipient and sender. In total, this piece of paper covered about 60% of the area of the box with the phone, the rest of it was simply wrapped with tape. I feel like the seller sent it from a burning tank, in which all the paper was used to write letters to loved ones... It’s a pity that I didn’t take a photo of this miracle package - its appearance would definitely bring a smile to your face.

But be that as it may, the parcel arrived very successfully; no visible or tactile damage was found on it. She looked something like this:

By the way, I’m wondering why they cut out a piece from the top of the package? It seems to me that this is some kind of restriction - so that the phone cannot be sold. But does anyone know exactly the reason for this atrocity?

Design and accessories.
Opening the box, we see the immensely beautiful creation of Motorola engineers. RAZR is very beautiful. The combination of smooth lines and sharp angles, stainless steel and Kevlar fiber makes this phone a truly excellent example of what a quality product should look like. I assure you - not a single photo will convey to you what the phone actually looks and feels like. In this case, it is better to touch once than to see/read 7 times.

And it looks something like this:

Handsome, isn't it?

The box in which the phone is located is made of thick cardboard, pleasant to the touch. There are no inscriptions on it, except for the model name - DROID RAZR.

The interior of the box is divided into 2 parts by a cardboard partition. At the top there is a phone, at the bottom there are accessories:
- numerous instruction books (4 pcs.);
- cable for synchronization with PC (1 pc.);
- network adapter (1 piece, but what kind!);
- microSD 16 GB class 6 (1 pc.).

I would especially like to dwell on network adapter. It is a cube at one end of which there are 2 USB output. It is thanks to him that my wife and I can now charge our phones at the same time from the same outlet.

Nothing else noteworthy was found in the accessories. Let's move on to the phone itself.

The first thing that catches your eye is the thickness of the phone, or rather the lack thereof - only 7.1 mm (although in the upper part this value is close to 1 cm, but due to the connectors and speaker located there it is impossible to avoid this).

There are no fundamental differences in the layout of controls and connectors/speakers/microphones between the RAZRa and ATRIXa, but let’s quickly refresh our memory.

At the top end There is a 3.5 headphone output, as well as microHDMi jacks (for connecting the phone to a monitor, projector, TV, etc.) and microUSB.

On the left side There are slots for microSIM and microSD cards, which are closed with a neat plug that protects them from various debris and dust.

On the right side There is a power button and a volume rocker. Both buttons rise above the body line by about 1 mm and have a small and clear stroke that ends with a click.

From below still nothing.

Backside is more diverse compared to the previously described model and, in addition to incomprehensible inscriptions, bears the name of the operator offering this phone in the States - Verizon.

At the top there is still a camera lens that shoots HD video, a flash diode, a hole in one of the microphones of the noise reduction system and a mesh that hides the main speaker of the phone.

Front part The phone looks much nicer than the Atrix. A special style is given to it by a steel nameplate with the name of the manufacturer. Without it, the phone would be completely different. Below it on the right we see a 1.3 Megapixel camera lens, an LED on the right, as well as light and proximity sensors.
Returning to the question protective films- it is not there yet, but it has already been ordered and will be pasted immediately upon receipt. The main reason for this is not to protect the protected glass from scratches, but to try to get rid of the numerous unfortunate fingerprints left on the phone screen during its use, one of which you can see in the photo below. The only criterion for choosing films is that they must be matte. :)

Unlike Atrixa, there are touch-sensitive phone control buttons at the bottom. There are 4 of them in total: menu, home, back and search. The buttons have a pleasant backlight, which makes them visible in the dark and automatically turns off during daylight hours.

Above the touch buttons is the operator logo - Verizon. It is applied with high quality and to the right place. It does not spoil the appearance of the phone at all and seems appropriate.

Under the buttons is a microphone hole.

The screen is made using technology, which may cause some readers negative attitude. For me, this is not critical, tears do not well up in my eyes, and the picture remains bright and juicy.

Viewing Angles:

Filling and software.

We'll start this section of the review with a short commercial break. Let your eyes rest from the letters, and let your brain assimilate the information received.

Have you rested? Read on.

The phone uses a 2-core Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor with a frequency of each core of 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. This is quite enough for a high-quality study of all the tasks assigned to this phone by my wife. More details about the phone:

Next, as usual, I am attaching test screenshots.

Antutu.

Quadrant.

Memory information.

GPS Test.
This test was carried out indoors, at a distance of about 1 m from the window, it was raining outside the window.

As for the camera, it is exactly the same as in the Atrixe I recently reviewed. Below the spoiler are some photos taken with a phone camera. True, due to site restrictions, their actual sizes had to be reduced to 77% of the original, but general idea You will have an idea about the quality of the resulting images.

Sample photos

The phone has a battery with a capacity of 1730 mAh, which is enough for daylight hours, taking into account a lot of calls (oh, those talkative girls) and a lot of time in various classmates, vibers, etc. I think that after the build-up the battery will hold up better.

At the time of receipt, the Android OS 2.3.x was installed on the phone. I can’t tell you more about the system version, because... Without a SIM card, the phone did not load beyond the welcome window. Distinctive feature XT912 jn XT908-910 is the ability of the phone to work in both CDMA and GSM networks. However, despite the ability provided by the manufacturer, setting up the phone to work in GSM networks on Android 2.3 is very problematic and risks getting bricked; on 4.1.2, the GSM network card is recognized automatically, and the ranges in which the device should operate are determined by checking one box in the settings. Despite the fact that the phone bears the CDMA operator's logo, it works perfectly in GSM networks: the network holds like any other phone, data transmission in 3G and HSDP standards works properly. To my great regret, our operators do not yet support the 4G standard, so I can’t say anything about it.

To avoid negative consequences, and at the same time switch to radical new version The software was software up to version 4.1.2. The stock firmware is perfectly flashed into the device using the RSD Lite utility.

After updating the software version, the phone received and installed custom recovery through . Well, installing recovery gives us practically unlimited possibilities for customizing our device. However, taking into account the fact that the phone will be in female hands, it was decided to install stock firmware with full Russification and cut out unnecessary software.

At this point, the execution of the phone was completed, and it itself was handed over to the caring hands of women.

Comparison with Motorola Atrix HD.

It is somewhat inappropriate to compare these models, but I simply could not help but do it. There is nothing special to write here - it is better to look at the photographs. The only thing I want to note is that with a diagonal of 4.3 inches for RAZRa, versus 4.5 for ATRIXa, the phones have almost identical overall dimensions. First of all, this is due to the same huge frames around the screen and the presence touch buttons at RAZRa.

Conclusion.
For a small amount, about 3 times less than what is asked from us I liked the review +62 +98
