How to increase the sound through the engineering menu. How to increase volume on Android devices: tips and instructions. Increasing volume: step-by-step instructions

Not all mobile devices reproduce sound equally loudly - for some, the ringing tone is too quiet, while for others, the sound switched to headphones exceeds all permissible limits. How to cope with this imbalance and even out the sound? Can this be done without visiting a service center? Let's figure it out.

Any gadgets on the Android OS have such a flexible control system that they can be changed beyond recognition - customized, thereby opening up a wide range of hidden capabilities, and customized to suit any functionality of the system, including sounds. Not all basic assemblies are ideal; sometimes the sound reproduction of the device’s speakers does not work correctly - in some applications it can reach the maximum value, while in others it is barely audible. You can adjust the speakers in a variety of ways - both standard and using special settings menus or applications.

All devices have a standard key for volume control - usually located on the side panel. By clicking on it you can set the desired parameter. But if this does not suit you, then you can do this from the main settings menu. Here you can make settings for any application, set a ringtone for a particular contact.

To change the default sound, you need to do this:

  1. Open the main settings menu and go to the section "Melodies and Sound";
  2. In the right corner, click on the gear icon - you will find yourself in the desired settings section;
  3. Set the desired sound parameters.

This will result in the same pitch for all apps and calls. But if you need to change specific values, for example, for incoming voice calls or messages, then you need to do this in the “Sound Profile” section in each of the desired applications.

Through the functionality of the engineering menu

This method is suitable for advanced users who, in case of failure, can return all the standard settings back. But! Each model has its own commands to call up this special settings menu:

  • For models from Samsung: *#*#8255#*#* or *#*#4636#*#* ;
  • For gadgets from NTS: *#*#3424#*#* or *#*#4636#*#* or *#*#8255#*#* ;
  • Combination for devices manufactured by Sony: *#*#7378423#*#*
  • For devices manufactured by Fly, Alcatel, Philips: *#*#3646633#*#* ;
  • And for gadgets from the manufacturer Huawei, the combination will be: *#*#2846579#*#* ;
  • For devices on MTK: *#*#54298#*#* or *#*#3646633#*#*.

After dialing and pressing the dial button, you are taken to the engineering menu, where you can adjust the necessary parameters.

There are other parameters, but it’s better not to touch them at all:

  • Debug Info – system information about possible debugging;
  • Speech Logger – setting up conversation recording, if you activate this position, then in the root folder you can find a file something like this: Wed_Jun_2014__07_02_23.vm, indicating the date and time of recording;
  • Audio logger – is responsible for searching for recorded conversations.

Each of these modes has its own fine settings, and to understand what’s what, here is a standard list of sound adjustments Type:

  • Sip – will allow you to regulate calls, for example, via Skype;
  • The Mic button is responsible for adjusting microphone response;
  • Sph – will allow you to set the desired parameter for the conversation dynamics, that is, the one that is brought to the ear;
  • Sph2 – this parameter is not available on all devices, but if it is, then it can be used to configure the second earpiece;
  • Sid - it’s better not to touch this line - otherwise during a conversation you can only hear yourself, and not your interlocutor;
  • Media – this adjusts the sound of multimedia files, for example, video;
  • Ring – the ability to set the desired volume level for incoming calls;
  • FMR - is responsible for the pitch of the sound in the Radio application.

There are several settings to set the desired sound - from level 0 to level 6. With each press, the level increases, and in order to save the set value, it is erased from the cell and a new one is written, which you see during setup. But! Observe the range: it can range from 0 to 255, and the lower the number, the lower the sound will be reproduced. After making changes, click on the Set button - it is located on the same line as the cell being changed, and exit the settings by pressing the dial button.

Tips: Before changing the default settings, write down all the values on a piece of paper - this may come in handy if you overdo it and set the wrong parameter, for example, the sounds are played too low.

Examples

For many users, when recording video, the sound is incorrect, that is, either too quiet or loud. To fix this, go to the engineering menu by typing the command for your smartphone (see above):

  1. Go to the line LoudSpeaker Mode (loudspeaker settings);
  2. Set the microphone sensitivity to mic.
  3. Here you can set the level item to, for example, the value 240. Save the changes with the Set button and exit the menu. You should press this button after each change made, do not forget about it!

Using special software

If you don’t want to bother with fine-tuning the device, you can use special applications. You can find a lot of them both in the Google store and on the Internet. What is noteworthy is that the sound can be increased by about a third, and the speakers will work absolutely normally, without wheezing or straining.

Utilities are recognized as the most popular, and they are best suited for adjusting low frequencies.

But the Android OS version must be higher than 2.3, otherwise they will not be able to perform their functions.

Everything is very simple, the software works on the same principle - an equalizer appears on the screen, where you can make the desired sound adjustments.

Now you know how to increase the volume on Android or, if necessary, adjust the sound and sensitivity of the speakers.

It's hard to imagine a smartphone without volume buttons. Pressed on one side - it decreased, pressed on the other - increased. However, there are smartphones where the volume never rises above average: the level scale shows the maximum, but the sound is still quiet.

What is this? Breaking? Marriage? Not at all. The phone manufacturer took care of your ears. To prevent you from going deaf from loud sound, it has limited the ability to turn on the speakers at full power. However, this can be fixed.

Let's look at standard and non-standard ways to increase the volume on a smartphone, with which you can bypass manufacturer restrictions.

Phone settings

The phone settings are the most convenient to use. And even if the sound level adjustment buttons break down. The instructions look like this:

Engineering menu

This menu was intentionally hidden by the developers of the smartphone and operating system from users so that they could not accidentally make changes that would lead to device malfunctions. With its help, you can reconfigure almost all phone parameters, including increasing speaker volume levels.

Access to the engineering menu is opened using a special code - universal or specific for devices of a certain brand.

Procedure:

There is 4 sound mode options, which are available for configuration:

  • Normal Mode. Responsible for sound from speakers without using headphones or any other devices.
  • Headset Mode. Sound in headphones.
  • LoudSpeaker Mode. Responsible for adjusting the sound level on the speakerphone.
  • Headset_LoudSpeaker Mode. The same as the previous point, only with headphones.

After opening Settings, you will see two fields with numbers. The first indicates the current volume value, the second indicates the maximum allowable volume. The data in the first field can be edited.

Set it to the desired value and click the “Set” button.

The engineering menu will allow you to adjust more parameters than the standard “Settings” and volume buttons.

Third Party Applications

If the engineering menu seems too complicated to you, you can use special applications from the Google Play Market. The maximum volume level that is built into the speakers cannot be surpassed with their help, but it is quite possible to remove some restrictions.

Volume Booster GOODEV

Volume Booster GOODEV is a very easy to use application designed only for volume control. You don’t need to expect anything more from it, but it is ready to become an excellent replacement for the usual settings.

Instructions for using Volume Booster GOODEV look like this:

Amplifier

As the name suggests, the “Sound Booster” application is also responsible for adjusting and enhancing the volume level on the phone. It is also simple and, unlike the previous program, has a translation into Russian. However, “Sound Booster” does not always allow you to get results comparable to Volume Booster GOODEV. Its efficiency is slightly lower.

How to use the application:

  1. Please read the warning that turning up the volume too much may damage your hearing and will cause wear and tear on your speakers. Click "Ok" to continue.
  2. To make adjustments, use the sliders under the appropriate headings. The first slider adjusts the overall volume level, and the second one enhances it. Maximum gain is possible up to 60% of the default gain in the speakers.

Using patches

This option is suitable exclusively for experienced smartphone and PC users, since it involves working with system files using root rights. An inexperienced user who does not understand what he is doing risks damaging his smartphone.

The patches were developed by craftsmen and enthusiasts, that is, they have nothing to do with the device manufacturer. They are built into system catalogs, which leads to changes in the functions of the gadget, in particular, to the removal of speaker volume restrictions. But there is one “but”: these patches are not so easy to find, and the risk of downloading a non-working or virus package is far from zero.

Let's briefly look at the sequence of actions:

An optimally selected sound volume allows you to hear an important call, watch a movie or listen to music with pleasure. You can adjust the sound on Android separately for applications, notifications, calls and players. The user has several ways to increase the volume, including through the engineering menu - they are described below.

On smartphones and tablets running Android, you can adjust the sound using the volume key. The key is a “rocker” - pressing up increases the volume, and clicking down decreases it. If an application or movie is open at the moment you press the key, the media volume will change, and if the desktop, the call volume will change.

If the sound spontaneously switches to “Quiet”, check your smartphone for viruses. Remove applications that have access to volume control and evaluate the situation. Also check if the “Ring louder in your pocket” mode is enabled. To do this, go to settings, select “Calls - Call louder in your pocket.” If necessary, disable the feature.

You can configure sound settings in the standard settings of your smartphone or tablet:

  1. Go to Settings and select Sound.
  2. Select "Volume".
  3. Use the sliders to adjust the volume values for each type of sound - notifications, calls, applications.
  4. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Depending on the version of Android, the settings item may be called “Melodies and Sound”, Sound, etc.

Tricks to boost sound on Android

An external speaker solves the problem of insufficient volume on a smartphone or tablet when other methods do not help. The speaker is a small device with a 3.5 mm plug that is inserted into the headphone jack or connected via Bluetooth. Cost - from 700 rub.

A lifehack to increase the volume - while playing a video or playing music, position the smartphone with the speaker towards the painted wall. The sound will be reflected from the surface and at the same time amplified.

Is it possible to remove the volume limit?

Android smartphones have a maximum volume limit to protect the device's speakers and users' eardrums. The engineering menu allows you to increase the upper limit - the Max item. Vol. The maximum value is 255 units. It is impossible to set the value higher, and it is not required - otherwise the speakers will not stand it.

If you do not want to access the service menu, use the Volume Unlock application:

  1. Install the program from the Play Store.
  2. Go to the application and activate the Enable Volume Power item.

The program does not remove the limitation, but increases the maximum value.

Test the methods described above to increase the volume and choose the best one for your device. Work with the engineering menu carefully - incorrect settings can lead to problems with the sound of your smartphone or tablet.

Trying to find a way to increase the speaker volume on Android, you will probably come to this page.

And rest assured, here you will find this method, and more than one.

Intuition or the “trial and error” method will help you choose the best option from the proposed set of methods.

In any case, you will be pleased with the result, but for now let’s start looking at the problem.

What you should pay attention to?

Sound problems, one way or another, can occur with any device - both budget and quite expensive.

However, the ways to solve these problems are almost identical, since the software part of systems of the same generation will always be similar, even with some differences.

Accordingly, minimal differences in the setup process will be associated to a greater extent with the features of the operating system version.

As for the sound features of the device itself, it is worth noting that the differences in the sound of an expensive and budget device will still be noticeable.

And not all software tools are capable of correcting the sound quality of speakers or Android devices.

Thus, if the sound produced by such a speaker is increased, hardware problems may arise as a counterbalance.

For example, the speaker will begin to produce sound at unauthorized frequencies and, as a result, extraneous noise will appear during the sound, including squeaks, wheezing, crackling and, possibly, popping.

Therefore, when selecting settings, keep in mind that such problems may arise and try to avoid mistakes in order to maintain the functionality of the device.

Standard way to solve the problem

Before moving on to the most stringent control measures on Android, let's look at the rules for standard volume control.

Note that the volume can be adjusted both globally for all system sounds and for individual applications, which is especially important when you seem to have set the sound to full volume, but in the media player the composition is played quietly.

In this situation, everything can be solved mechanically, i.e. using the volume rocker key.

It should be used not when the desktop is displayed on the screen, but precisely when a given application is running.

For example, in conversation mode the volume will be adjusted specifically for communication, and when viewing a gallery, the volume of the video being played will be adjusted.

Using this method, most users come to the conclusion that in some situations the sound of the smartphone is excessive, and in other situations it is insufficient.

The correct way to solve the problem

The second method of adjusting sound involves the use of other standard tools - software.

Their functionality is limited to just a few categories that regulate sound volume:

  • calls;
  • talk;
  • system sounds;
  • media files.

It only takes a few steps to get to these adjustments. The first step is to find the system application called “Settings”.

Its shortcut looks like a gear, regardless of the applied theme.

It is inside it that hides the hinges, thanks to which you can fine-tune the sound of each of the above categories.

It is worth noting that the clarity of such adjustments leaves much to be desired, despite the modern interface.

However, after playing with the hinges using short and long taps (with holding), it is not difficult to understand how the application works.

At the same time, if these settings are set to the maximum, this will only be a limit that the device manufacturer or the developer of proprietary firmware on the base does not allow to be violated, and in order to violate them, it is necessary to use other methods.

Rice. 2 – Volume control window

Software method for solving the problem

When the built-in capabilities of a gadget seem insufficient, the user’s first reaction is to use third-party software. There are a great many of them in.

But before you give up searching for it "Volume Booster", it is worth paying attention to the fact that not all software tools give complete freedom of action.

Some applications have rather narrow functionality and simply maximize the hardware power of speakers and microphones, which is completely wrong, and a similar result can be achieved using hidden built-in tools, which will be discussed later.

In the meantime, let's pay attention to the fact that with the help of one application you can not only improve the sound, but also improve the quality of the reproduced sound thanks to the special software tricks used.

Therefore, it would be more correct to look not for a volume increaser, but for something like an audio center or utility for.

Therefore, when choosing them, you need to clearly understand which team you are choosing.

To access the volume settings, you need to find “Hardware testing” among the application windows.

Most models allow you to do this by swiping sideways. In the list that appears on the screen, you will need to select the “Audio” category.

After this, the adjustment window will become available.

Inside it, you will need to select a value for a drop-down list with a custom mode that contains values, and the most important ones are the first ones:

For each of them there is a list of virtual and physical devices:

  • FMR – FM radio;
  • Media – media player;
  • Mic – microphone;
  • Ring – call;
  • Sip – network sounds;
  • Sph – conversational speaker;
  • Sph2 – additional speaker (not available on all models).

Each of them has several volume levels, starting from zero. Values are set for them manually.

Setting the device volume

To correctly set the highest volume value for a virtual or physical device, you need to go to the highest level in the list, for example, 13Level.

For it in the corresponding cell you will need to increase the standard value by several points.

The highest and lowest values available for that device will be listed in parentheses to the side.

All selected parameters will be applied immediately, immediately after pressing the “Set” button located next to the cell where the numbers are entered.

Please note: each Level is responsible for one press of the volume rocker key. Therefore, if you enter the volume value not in a given order, the sound will change accordingly.

Increase volume on Android to maximum in 2 minutes (increase volume android)

If you are tired of listening while watching a movie on your Android smartphone, the interlocutor complains that you are hard to hear - increase the speaker volume to maximum and adjust the microphone sensitivity using the Android engineering menu.

Many smartphone users need to increase the sound level on the device. This may be due to either the maximum volume of the phone being too low or due to some kind of breakdown. In this article we will look at the main methods that allow you to perform all sorts of manipulations on the sound of your gadget.

In total, there are three main methods for manipulating the sound level of a smartphone, there is one more, but it is not applicable to all devices. In any case, each user will find a suitable option for themselves.

Method 1: Standard volume increase

This method is known to all phone users. It consists of using the hardware volume up and down buttons. As a rule, they are located on the side panel of the mobile device.

When you press one of these buttons, a characteristic menu for changing the sound level will appear at the top of the phone screen.

As you know, the sound of smartphones is divided into several categories: calls, multimedia and alarm. Pressing the hardware buttons changes the type of sound that is currently being used. In other words, if any video is played, the sound of the media will change.

It is also possible to adjust all types of sound. To do this, when increasing the volume level, click on the special arrow - as a result, a complete list of sounds will open.

To change sound levels, move the sliders around the screen using regular taps.

Method 2: Settings

If the hardware buttons for adjusting the volume level break down, you can perform the same steps as described above using the settings. To do this, follow the algorithm:

Method 3: Special Applications

There are cases when it is not possible to use the first methods or they are not suitable. This applies to situations where the maximum sound level that can be achieved in this way is not satisfactory to the user. Then third-party software comes to the rescue, presented in a fairly wide range on the Play Market.

Some manufacturers have such programs built into the standard configuration of the device. Therefore, it is not always necessary to download them. Directly in this article, as an example, we will look at the process of increasing the sound level using the free Volume Booster GOODEV application.

Method 3: Engineering menu

Not many people know that almost any smartphone has a secret menu that allows you to perform some manipulations on the mobile device, including adjusting the sound. It is called engineering and was created for developers to finalize the device settings.

  1. First you need to get into this menu. Open the phone number dialer and enter the appropriate code. This combination differs for devices from different manufacturers.
  2. Manufacturer Codes
    Samsung *#*#197328640#*#*
    *#*#8255#*#*

    Alcatel, Fly, Texet *#*#3646633#*#*
    Chinese manufacturers (Xiaomi, Meizu, etc.) *#*#54298#*#*
    *#*#3646633#*#*
  3. After selecting the correct code, the engineering menu will open. Use swipes to go to the section "Hardware Testing" and tap on the item "Audio".
  4. Be careful when working in the engineering menu! Any incorrect setting can seriously affect the performance of your device for the worse. Therefore, try to adhere to the algorithm presented below as much as possible.

  5. There are several sound modes in this section, and each can be customized:
    • Normal Mode - normal sound playback mode without using headphones and other things;
    • Headset Mode — mode of operation with connected headphones;
    • LoudSpeaker Mode - speakerphone;
    • Headset_LoudSpeaker Mode - speakerphone with headphones;
    • Speech Enhancement - conversation mode with an interlocutor.
  6. Go to the settings of the required mode. In the points marked in the screenshot, you can increase the current volume level, as well as the maximum allowable one.

Method 4: Installing the patch

For many smartphones, enthusiasts have developed special patches, the installation of which allows you to both improve the quality of the reproduced sound and simply increase the playback volume. However, such patches are not so easy to find and install, so it is better for inexperienced users not to take on this matter at all.
