How to create a group on VK: step-by-step instructions and which type of community is better to choose. Basic settings of a VKontakte group: what they are needed for and what they affect Setting up a group on VK

Many users have difficulty with the question of how to edit . If almost anyone can create a community, then only an experienced user can manage it and make the necessary adjustments.

First you need to understand that the procedures for editing a group via a PC and a smartphone have significant differences, which are explained mainly by differences in the set of functions of the full and mobile versions site. Let's look at the instructions for each of these devices.

Most often, editing a VK group is done via a PC, since the full version of the site is much more convenient and understandable than the mobile one. All processes in this manual are related to the Management section, the path to which is as follows:

  • Click on the name of the community you are looking for, moving to its main page.

  • Under the group avatar, find the Management item. Click on it.

Now you can examine in detail the procedure for editing a group.

Settings

The Settings tab contains several blocks at once. The first one is Basic Information, where you can change the group name, description and type. You can add or change using the Download hyperlink. And in the Address line, write down the letter code of the group page.

The following block is designed to work with an action button:

  • after turning it on, you can select or change the type of action (open a website, make a phone call, write an email, etc.);
  • depending on the selected type of action, indicate a contact for communication (phone number, address Email etc.);
  • specify or change the name of the button (Contact/Write).

The Additional information block allows you to set the topic and theme of the group, as well as age restrictions. If necessary, here you can change the contact phone number, the address of a third-party website, or the actual address of the company.

Attention! After all the changes have been made, be sure to save them using the button at the bottom of the screen!

Sections

In this tab you can adjust the availability of various sections and blocks in the community structure:

  • open or close a wall;
  • hide, open or restrict access to photographs, videos, materials, discussions, documents;
  • enable or disable the Events and Products blocks;
  • change the settings of the Products block (delivery region, currency, store contact information, etc.);
  • determine the main and secondary blocks.

In addition, if necessary, you can connect the Store application here. To do this, check the box next to the corresponding line and click the Save button.

Comments

This tab is for editing the comments option. Enable filter by keywords or you can block messages containing obscene language by checking the necessary items in the list of settings.

At the bottom of the screen you can see messages that have been removed for ethical reasons.

Links

This tab has only one function - adding relevant links to other VK pages or third-party resources. This will help make the community more informative and ensure a steady flow of visitors to the main site.

Addresses

The full name of the section is Addresses and opening hours, from which it is clear that here you can indicate the actual address of the company (if available), add geolocation, phone number and opening hours. For groups that represent a virtual representation of an offline business, this option is extremely important because it creates the impression of openness and accessibility among both current and potential clients.

Working with the API

This tab allows you to generate group access keys. As a rule, they are used by the most advanced SMM specialists. And for beginners, it’s enough to know that the API key is a kind of virtual signature of the user or VK community.

Participants

In the “Participants” section, you can search for information about users who have subscribed to the community, grant them privileges, or add them to the Black List.

Messages

Here you can enable the Community messages option, after which the corresponding block will appear in the left column of the menu. In a special text field, you can write the actual greeting text, which will be automatically sent to users who start a dialogue with the bot.

Applications

IN this section you can connect or remove applications necessary for the effective functioning of the community.

Money transfers

This section is intended to regulate the function of monetary relationships between users in the group.

Content Complaints

Here you can see negative reviews on publications in the community.

Editing a group via the mobile application

Manage your community through mobile app not very convenient. However, if there is no other way out, you can follow the following instructions:

  • Use the standard method to enter the group settings section.
  • In the Information section you can change the main parameters of the community.
  • The Services section allows you to edit the page content.
  • The Blacklist section displays blocked users. If desired, you can easily remove or add any person here.
  • The Invitations section contains a list of users who have been sent invitations to participate in the group.
  • Applications is a section containing a tool for approving or deleting applications to be added to the community.
  • In the Participants tab you can see full list participants, including administrators, moderators and other users.
  • The Links section is intended for adding and removing links to internal pages social network, as well as to third party sites.

As you can see, in many ways the menu items for managing the community through the mobile application coincide with the items in full version site. Therefore, if necessary, you can make changes to the group, even while away from your PC.

The VKontakte social network offers ample opportunities for creating, developing, and editing groups. An intuitive interface allows you to quickly tailor the community to the needs of your target audience, which ensures stable monetization in the long term.

Almost every registered user of the popular social network VKontakte is a member of at least one group or public page.

At the same time, many users create own groups and are actively engaged in filling and promoting them.

We have the following issues on the agenda:

The first question that immediately arises is why you need to create a VKontakte group? Most often they do this just for fun. In this case, a person chooses a topic close to himself and gathers an interested audience.

Sometimes groups are created for the purpose of mutual assistance (material, informational or some other). And sometimes - to earn money (for the purpose of subsequent placement advertising posts, links, announcements, etc.).

You need to visit your community not just every day, but several times a day in order to promptly remove spam if it is present. Remember: you don’t need spam and you should delete it in a timely manner - the sooner the better!

But again, be careful to ensure that there is no spam in the discussions.

Try to limit the function of creating albums, but leave the ability to add photos to those albums that have already been created. The status of photo albums should be regularly monitored to make sure there is no spam or to delete it in a timely manner.

Settings instructions

Now it's time to find out exactly how set up a community in contact and what actions need to be taken to achieve this. Start by logging into your group and clicking on the “Manage Community” button (located under your group’s avatar). You will see the “Information” tab - this is the main tab where the following settings are present:

  1. Name. You can change the name of your community at any time, but you shouldn't do it often.
  2. Page address. You don't need a simple ID number; It’s better to come up with a nice, original and concise address for the group. For example http://vk.com/komputery_internet instead of http://vk.com/club12345678.
  3. Description of the group. if you have community in contact settings with a description will allow you to attract more visitors to it. You need to try to briefly describe your “brainchild” and tell “in a nutshell” what it is dedicated to. Then visitors will be able to immediately understand exactly where they are.
  4. Theme of the group. Select the topic of your community. To do this, click on the field and select the appropriate option in the menu that appears. Of course, you can leave this column blank, but still choosing a topic will not be superfluous.
  5. Web site. If your community has an external website, enter its URL here. By doing this, you will not only interest visitors even more and expand your target audience, but you will also definitely increase the resource’s traffic, which, of course, will have a positive impact on its work and promotion.
  6. Location. This function becomes especially important when the VKontakte group is dedicated to any locality, attractions, a specific establishment located only in one city, and so on.
  7. Wall. You need to decide what your wall will be like. It can be: off (not recommended), open, limited and closed.
  8. Export to Twitter. In principle, this setting is not mandatory, but it is extremely convenient for those “group owners” who have a well-promoted Twitter account. If you don't have one, you won't need any setup.
  9. Video recordings. Photos. Documentation. Materials. Discussions. All these functions can be: open, disabled, limited. Choose an option based on the above recommendations and tips.
  10. Group type. This option can easily be called privacy settings, and therefore it is very important. Pay attention to this setting Special attention. The fact is that your community can be of three types: private, closed, open. It is recommended to choose an open group type, but this is not always good. For example, if a community is dedicated to representatives of the 18+ age category, it must be closed - otherwise your group may be blocked.
