In general, we can say that ArtRage is designed to work on Wacom tablets - all tools respond to pressure (and when using professional tablet models, tools respond to pressure, rotation, and tilt of the pen).? When opening the program, we see in front of us a large field for drawing, and on the sides there are palettes of tools and their settings, color samples, layers, etc.

The color picker is located at the bottom right of the screen and represents a spectrum of colors. It is enough to visually select a color sample by clicking on the palette. Next, the color can be adjusted according to the saturation of the shade, as well as made darker or lighter. The user can also customize this palette specifically for themselves. To call up the color palette settings, you need to click on the small triangle located just to the left of the selected color sample. It should be noted that all paints can be made “metallic”. What does it mean? Everything is very simple. The developers of the ArtRage program have introduced a feature that allows you to make the applied paint more shiny by simply moving the “Metallic” slider to the right.

The ArtRage program has an interesting opportunity to create scenic drawings based on ready-made images. Let’s use the “Tracing” command (the icon at the bottom of the program interface, depicting a blank translucent sheet of paper), and in the dialog box, select the file with the image of the parrot that interests us. A translucent image of a parrot appeared in the active part of the program. Notice that the color palette has changed from a multi-colored rainbow to a blank white field with the words “Using Trace Color. Click For Normal Color". This means that having selected a drawing tool, there is no need to select the color with which we will draw - the desired color will be selected automatically. It’s enough just to apply strokes over the translucent image of a parrot, and the desired color will choose itself as soon as we touch the surface of the tablet. In order for the color palette to regain its usual appearance, just click on it.

Only a brush can serve as a drawing tool, but it is much more interesting to combine the tools that the ArtRage program gives us. In this case, the Glitter tool is used first - its action can be seen at the bottom of the illustration. This gave us a colorful base for our drawing and the ability to use other tools on top of this layer. Mixing colors and different textures gives the drawing greater detail and expressiveness.
